<p>The Licensed Practical Nurse position will serve as a member of the nursing team in any Community Living Center (CLC) house providing specialized care to residents with a multiplicity of disease processes who require more complex treatments.</p> <p>This position is on CLC-B, which is the locked dementia unit within Long Term Care.</p> <p>Duties include but are not limited to;</p> <ul> <li>Ability to recognize changes in residents' conditions and the need for intervention which may be of emergent nature requiring immediate attention. </li><li>Reports of any noted change in patient's condition to RN or MD/DO. </li><li>Provides effective education to patients and/or family members in relation to common disease processes, medication and prescribed treatment regimes. </li><li>Knowledge and skill sufficient to prepare, administer and appropriately document actions taken specific to commonly prescribed oral, topical, subcutaneous, intramuscular, and/or intravenous medications as permitted by approved local facility policies and procedures. </li><li>Recognizes and appropriately responds to breakage or malfunction equipment, safety hazards, and supply deficiencies promptly reporting to appropriate personnel for corrective action. </li><li>Actively participates in resident care planning and conferences and recommends changes to the plan of care with the registered nurse. </li><li>Supports individual resident choices, autonomy and preferred routines in activities of daily living. </li><li>Performs basic personal care for the resident utilizing standardized procedures and promotes independence in ADL activities. </li></ul> <p>VA Careers - Licensed Practical Nurse: https://youtube.com/embed/Ae85IP1Oiz4</p> <p>Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional</p> <p>Work Schedule: Multiple shifts available to include rotating holidays and weekends.</p> <p>Recruitment Incentive (Sign-on Bonus): Not Authorized</p> <p>Permanent Change of Station (Relocation Assistance): Not Authorized</p> <p>Pay: Competitive salary and regular salary increases. When setting pay, a higher step rate of the appropriate grade may be determined after consideration of higher or unique qualifications or special needs of the VA (Above Minimum Rate of the Grade).</p> <p>Paid Time Off: 37-50 days of annual paid time offer per year (13-26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year)</p> <p>Parental Leave: After 12 months of employment, up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave in connection with the birth, adoption, or foster care placement of a child.</p> <p>Child Care Subsidy: After 60 days of employment, full time employees with a total family income below $144,000 may be eligible for a childcare subsidy up to 25% of total eligible childcare costs for eligible children up to the monthly maximum of $416.66.</p> <p>Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA</p> <p>Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement)</p> <p>Telework: Not Available</p> <p>Virtual: This is not a virtual position.</p> <p>Functional Statement #: 613-25281-F</p> <p>Permanent Change of Station (PCS): Not Authorized</p> <p>Whole Health is an approach to health care that empowers and equips people to take charge of their health and well-being and live their life to the fullest.
