<p>Overview</p> <p>The Director of Audiology is responsible for the design, leadership, and operation of all clinical, administrative, training, and research activities within the Audiology Department. This role provides strategic and operational oversight of audiology services across the Institute, ensuring high-quality, effective, and compliant clinical care.</p> <p>The Director of Audiology maintains responsibility for daily departmental operations, including implementation, coordination, and supervision of clinical services, as well as collaboration with Institute leadership to establish and maintain departmental policies, procedures, standards, and goals. In addition to leadership responsibilities, the Director provides direct patient care by assessing and treating children with hearing differences.</p> <p>Principal Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Establishes the scope of audiology services within an interdisciplinary framework and provides oversight to ensure quality, effectiveness, and ethical practice across all Audiology services, including documentation, billing and coding, and standards of care. </li><li>Oversees licensure, compensation, recruitment, hiring, onboarding, training, supervision, retention, competency assessment, and performance evaluation of Audiology staff. </li><li>Provides comprehensive audiology services, including auditory-evoked potential measurements, audiological evaluations, newborn ABR and OAE screenings, hearing screenings, hearing aid selection and evaluations, and habilitative therapeutic interventions. </li><li>Conducts Audiology evaluations, treatment, child and parent training, and ensures timely and accurate clinical documentation. </li><li>Prepares, manages, and monitors the annual departmental budget and oversees policies and procedures related to clinical operations. </li><li>Ensures compliance with all applicable regulatory and accreditation standards, including The Joint Commission (TJC), Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), and Institute quality improvement and innovation initiatives. </li><li>Serves as an advocate and liaison for Audiology services with Institute leadership and key stakeholders. </li><li>Participates in and/or leads Institute-wide and external committees and professional meetings. </li><li>Oversees departmental facilities and equipment to promote efficiency, safety, health, and patient comfort. </li><li>Contributes to the Institute's Maternal-Child Health Bureau (MCHB) Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disorders (LEND) program and participates in interdisciplinary core curriculum planning and instruction. </li><li>Promotes and participates in interdisciplinary education and training within and outside the Institute. Oversees a high-quality training program for Audiology learners at all levels, including doctoral externs, and leads continuing education initiatives for Audiology staff. </li><li>Develops and participates in professional training activities at the local, state, national, and international levels, including curriculum development, workshops, presentations, scholarly publications, and other academic contributions. </li><li>Promotes and participates in discipline-specific and interdisciplinary research initiatives as an individual and as a department leader. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Must possess and maintain licensure to practice as an Audiologist in the State of Maryland. </li><li>Must hold the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) issued by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). </li></ul> <p>Education</p> <ul> <li>Doctoral degree (Au.D. or equivalent) from an accredited school of audiology is required. </li></ul> <p>Experience</p> <ul> <li>Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a licensed Audiologist is required, including at least three (3) years of experience in each of the following areas: </li><li>Direct clinical service </li><li>Clinical supervision </li><li>Training and education </li><li>Administrative leadership </li></ul> <p>Minimum pay range</p> <p>USD $83,483.00/Yr.</p> <p>Maximum pay range</p> <p>USD $149,453.00/Yr.</p>
