Our contributions are recognized with comprehensive compensation and benefits, career development, and the opportunity for a healthy work-life balance, advancement within our organization and the fulfillment of having a lasting impact on the communities we serve.</p> <p>MJHS companies are qualified employers under the Federal Government's Paid Student Loan Forgiveness Program (PSLF)</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Assist and support contract staff with facilitation of programmatic schedule. </li><li>Collaborate with contractors, Administrator and Director of Nursing to determine a therapeutic, environmental design for the Dementia Care unit. </li><li>Provide supervision, coaching, and recognition for team members that support the 3rd floor wings. </li><li>Maintain an engaging, homelike environment which presents residents with many opportunities to engage in their passions and connect with their peers and staff. </li><li>Support the day-to-day delivery of the Dementia Care program. </li><li>Recruit, onboard, train, coach and develop the Dementia Care programming team members including, but not limited to part-time, full-time and contract Creative Arts Therapists. </li><li>In concert with contractors and Director of Recreation, develop a schedule of therapeutic programming designed for nursing home residents with dementia. </li><li>Evaluate the program utilizing quality enhancement tools and customer feedback. </li><li>Improve the program through problem solving, program development and refinement. </li><li>Conduct Skills Discoveries for residents who are experiencing distressing behaviors to facilitate a pro-active problem solving approach. </li><li>Investigate incidents involving memory care residents in order to identify and implement opportunity for improvement in care using the dementia care principles and techniques. </li><li>Maintain the Dementia Care program budget, and document and submit quarterly and annual reports to the funder. </li><li>In conjunction with the Administrator and Director of Nursing will assure proper training of all staff working with the Dementia Care program. </li><li>Perform all administrative duties as required by the Administrator such as completing forms, reports, assessments, evaluations, charting, etc., as necessary in a timely fashion. </li><li>Responsible to assure appropriate quantities of programming supplies are available to residents 24-7 and are clean and in good working condition. </li></ul> <p>This role partners with the Director of Nursing and Director of Recreation to ensure the residents plan of care is implemented according to the Dementia Care Practice Principles and techniques.</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <p>Education</p> <ul> <li>Master's degree or higher </li><li>Evidence of licensure and state board certification in Recreation Therapy, Art Therapy, Music Therapy, or other Creative Arts Therapies </li><li>Certified Dementia Practitioner </li></ul> <p>Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Minimum of 3-5 years of management or healthcare related experience </li><li>Prior experience working with persons with Alzheimer's or related disorders Consultative nature with a mentoring/coaching demeanor and experience in training others </li></ul> <p>Equipment/Computer Software:</p> <ul> <li>Microsoft Office, E-mail, and Internet navigation. </li><li>SigmaCare preferred </li></ul> <p>License/Registration:</p> <ul> <li>Certified Dementia Practitioner </li><li>Valid NYS Professional Registered Nurse License </li><li>CPR Certification </li></ul> <p>Apply</p>
