<p>Job Description</p> <p>On-site: This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the Toledo, Ohio location on a full-time basis.</p> <p>The Role:</p> <p>As a Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for validating execution of Quality Systems requirements, which include all metrics of Voice of Customer (VOC), Initial, Long Term and Design Quality. Responsibilities also include monitoring progress to meet quality goals through common global process assessments, facilitating rapid containment of issues, installation of countermeasures and Leadership escalation, if required, to ensure Quality targets are achieved. A considerable amount of creativity and initiative will be involved, as well as a high level of independent judgment.</p> <p>What You'll Do:</p> <ul> <li>Ensure Quality Assessments are performed, and all issues are contained/resolved </li><li>Work with departmental Red X personnel to root cause internal and external defects, driving robust countermeasures </li><li>Support vehicle engineering in the Implementation of the Quality Requirements </li><li>Monitor consistency to Global Metric Definitions and Performance </li><li>Proficiency and knowledge of the elements of the GM Quality System / GMS BIQ, Quality Launch Plan and Global Quality Manual. </li><li>Analyze and implement product or machinery designs for the best method for manufacturing processes </li><li>Direct the design, development, and/or improvement of manufacturing processes for assigned area </li><li>Maintain relationships with our customers </li><li>Function as Voice of Quality in the manufacturing process </li><li>Makes reliability tests, analyzes and solves problems </li><li>Recommends necessary changes in design, purchase or manufacturing </li><li>Provides technical assistance as needed </li><li>Ability to work with people at all levels of the organization </li><li>Ability to make decisions with minimal supervision, work with a strong work ethic and be a self-starter. </li></ul> <p>Additional Job Description</p> <p>Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience </li><li>2+ years of manufacturing experience </li><li>Oral and written communication skills required </li><li>High level or analytical ability and problem solving </li><li>Knowledge of GD&T, Global Manufacturing Systems & Built In Quality </li><li>Implement process control requirements. </li><li>Works with a high sense of urgency </li><li>Must be able to work OT and weekends, as needed </li></ul> <p>What Can Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):</p> <ul> <li>Familiar with manufacturing operations and process </li><li>Proficient in use of Flexnet and eFlex and Bauer </li><li>Understanding of Process Control Plans and Process Failure Modes Effect Analysis </li><li>Demonstrated effective use of Red X Problem Solving </li><li>Process and product knowledge of transmission manufacturing </li><li>Demonstrated familiarity with Global Manufacturing Systems principles </li></ul> <p>Sponsorship: GM DOES NOT PROVIDE IMMIGRATION-RELATED SPONSORSHIP FOR THIS ROLE.
