<p>About the Job</p> <p>Video Archivist & Digital Content Assistant (Labor Education Service)</p> <p>The Labor Education Service (LES) at the University of Minnesota is hiring a part-time Video</p> <p>Archivist & Digital Content Assistant (10 hours/week). This position offers flexible hours and the opportunity to contribute to meaningful work in support of workers and unions. This is a fully remote position. This position is project-based; the estimated time needed to complete the project is 300 hours, or 30 weeks at 10 hours per week.</p> <p>Description of Duties</p> <ul> <li>Organize and maintain a digital video archive with consistent naming and file structure </li><li>Upload video files to the Labor Education Service website or other platforms </li><li>Write clear, concise content descriptions and tag each video with appropriate keywords </li><li>Ensure metadata is thorough and accurately reflects video content </li><li>Document work progress and maintain detailed records </li><li>Communicate regularly with LES staff about updates and any technical needs </li><li>Provide basic training to full-time LES staff on how to upload, edit, and maintain content on digital platforms </li><li>Digitize physical video content (such as VHS tapes or DVDs) into standard digital formats </li><li>Other duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Required Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Basic familiarity with video digitization tools and file formats </li><li>Strong attention to detail and organizational skills </li><li>Clear writing ability for creating metadata and descriptions </li><li>Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet weekly deadlines </li><li>Reliable, high speed Internet connection </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of Minnesota labor history, including unions and labor organizations </li><li>Familiarity with Elevator (digital media library platform) </li></ul> <p>How To Apply</p> <p>Applications must be submitted online.
