<p>Reports to: Head of School</p> <p>Fenway High School is committed to creating one of the strongest school wellness programs anywhere. We believe wellness is not an "extra," but a core part of student success, belonging, and healthy development. This role offers the opportunity to help build innovative programming that supports students in finding connection, movement, confidence, leadership, and joy both inside and outside the classroom.</p> <p>Fenway High School is seeking an innovative, energetic, and student-centered leader to serve as the school's Wellness & Co-Curricular Programs Manager for the 2026-2027 school year.</p> <p>Fenway is a small public high school in Boston founded in 1983 as an alternative program and one of Boston's first Pilot Schools. Fenway is nationally recognized for its innovative programming, strong school culture, experiential learning, and commitment to equity and whole-child education. At Fenway, we believe deeply in using "the city as our classroom" and in ensuring that every student has access to meaningful opportunities that support academic growth, wellness, belonging, and joy.</p> <p>We are building a nationally recognized school wellness model in which every student participates in a sport, wellness club, movement-based activity, or co-curricular wellness experience. We are seeking a dynamic leader who can help us expand and coordinate robust offerings that support students physically, socially, emotionally, and academically.</p> <p>Position Overview</p> <p>The Wellness & Co-Curricular Programs Manager is responsible for leading, developing, coordinating, and expanding Fenway High School's wellness and after-school programming. This includes managing partnerships, intramural athletics, wellness clubs, student participation systems, transportation logistics, and experiential programming connected to the school day and after school hours.</p> <p>This position reports directly to the Head of School and plays a critical leadership role in advancing Fenway's vision that all students participate in wellness-oriented co-curricular experiences. The ideal candidate is highly organized, relationship-driven, flexible, student-centered, and passionate about adolescent wellness, youth development, sports, and experiential education.</p> <p>Core Responsibilities</p> <p>Wellness & Co-Curricular Programming</p> <ul> <li>Lead and manage the school's wellness and co-curricular programming vision and implementation </li><li>Develop and expand wellness opportunities for students during and after the school day </li><li>Create and manage a wide range of student wellness clubs, movement-based activities, and intramural sports opportunities </li><li>Launch new programs responsive to student interests and community needs </li><li>Coordinate Wednesday Wellness and other schoolwide wellness initiatives </li><li>Organize tournaments, wellness events, workshops, fitness opportunities, and community-building activities </li></ul> <p>Student Participation & Engagement</p> <ul> <li>Build systems to ensure broad student participation in wellness and co-curricular programming </li><li>Track, monitor, and analyze student participation data and engagement trends </li><li>Measure program impact and participation rates </li><li>Work proactively to recruit students who may not traditionally participate in sports or clubs </li><li>Support the school's vision that every student participates in at least one wellness or co-curricular experience </li></ul> <p>Partnerships & Community Engagement</p> <ul> <li>Cultivate and manage partnerships with community organizations, colleges, wellness providers, athletic organizations, and youth-serving nonprofits </li><li>Coordinate field trips, guest speakers, workshops, and experiential learning opportunities </li><li>Serve as a liaison between the school and external wellness/community partners </li></ul> <p>Program Administration</p> <ul> <li>Manage student enrollment and attendance systems for after-school and wellness programming </li><li>Support and monitor co-curricular participation requirements </li><li>Maintain accurate program records, rosters, permissions, and participation data </li><li>Collaborate with school leadership, faculty, counselors, and families to support student engagement and success </li></ul> <p>Desired Skills & Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Strong commitment to youth wellness, adolescent development, and equity </li><li>Experience working with high school students in urban educational settings </li><li>Ability to build strong relationships with students, families, staff, and community partners </li><li>Strong organizational and program management skills </li><li>Ability to use participation and engagement data to improve programming </li><li>Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written </li><li>Demonstrated cultural competency and ability to work within a diverse school community </li><li>Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment </li><li>Experience coordinating sports, clubs, wellness programs, camps, or youth development initiatives preferred </li><li>Experience driving vans or transporting students preferred </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree required </li><li>Minimum of three years of professional experience working with youth in schools, community organizations, wellness programming, athletics, or related fields </li><li>Current authorization to work in the United States by the first day of employment </li></ul> <p>Terms: This is a full-time Managerial Tier B position.</p> <p>The general work schedule for this position will typically be approximately 9:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m., with flexibility required for occasional evening and weekend programming, student events, family events, athletic activities, and community partnerships.</p> <p>Please refer to www.bostonpublicschools.org/ohc (under "Employee Benefits and Policies") for more information on salary and compensation. Salaries are listed by Unions and Grade/Step</p> <p>School-based Managerial employees will work 223 days each year. The 223 day work-year will include the 183 days in which school is in session, and the additional days will be determined by the employee and the principal or headmaster of the school.</p> <p>School-based Managerial employees are not eligible for vacation time or compensatory time.
