You will inspire and educate students about science concepts, processes, and principles, fostering their curiosity and understanding of the natural world. Utilizing student-centered instructional methods, you will empower learners to actively participate in their educational journey, encouraging critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.</p> <p>Qualifications Required:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Holds or is eligible for the Connecticut State Certification as a high school Biology (030), Chemistry (031), and/or Physics (032)</p> </li><li> <p>Interest in teaching environmental and engineering courses preferred</p> </li><li> <p>Strong knowledge related to the NGSS content standards, CT safety regulations, and inquiry-based teaching</p> </li><li> <p>Master's degree from an accredited institution</p> </li><li> <p>Experience in working effectively with teachers, administrators, parents, and community groups</p> </li><li> <p>Excellent oral and written communication skills</p> </li></ul> <p>Performance Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Participates in school and district meetings and contributes to the school community</p> </li><li> <p>Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation</p> </li><li> <p>Maintains professional competence through a variety of activities including professional development activities provided by the district and self-selected professional growth activities</p> </li><li> <p>Ensures safety protocols are followed during lab sessions</p> </li><li> <p>Adheres to ethical and professional standards in education</p> </li><li> <p>Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as the principal may assign from time to time</p> </li></ul> <p>Terms of Employment: As established by the Contract between the Weston Board of Education and the Weston Teachers' Association.</p> <p>Reports to: Principal</p> <p>Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of Weston's Educator Evaluation, Growth, and Support Plan and applicable State Statutes.</p> <p>EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER</p> <p>The Weston Board of Education is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
