<p>About the Role:</p> <p>To process union and non-union, exempt, and hourly payrolls in a timely and accurate manner. Ensuring union contract and regulatory compliance. Analyze and review fringe benefit arrears, vacation, FMLA and leaves via UKG tools and spreadsheets to ensure policies are enacted correctly and employees are up to date on all fringe benefit deductions and compensation. Prepare weekly and monthly journal entries and reports. Serve as backup to the Payroll Manager and train to eventually fill that position.</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <p>Education: Associates Degree in Business Related Field (R); Bachelor Degree (P)</p> <p>Experience: 5 to 10 years payroll processing in UKG and union environment (R)</p> <p>Areas of Knowledge: Fundamental Payroll Certification (FCP or CPP(R), Understanding of Union Contract Language, (R) Wage and Hour, State, Federal, Local, Payroll Regulations, (R) Payroll Change Control, Withholding, Garnishment and Deductions,(R) Report Design and Production</p> <p>Skills: Microsoft Office Suite, UKG Payroll system, Business Intelligence Reporting Tool, Accurate Data Entry, Strong Communication Skills</p> <p>Role Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>PREPARATION: Audit, edit, verify and balance payrolls for union and non-union manufacturing facilities. Balance all hours and dollars to ensure accuracy of payroll calculations and they are compliant with union contract, federal, state and local regulations. </li><li>PRODUCTION: Perform all levels of the payroll process, including gross to net calculations, creation of payment forms, reporting and verification of processes. Tracking all hourly vacations for the payment and accruals. </li><li>ADMINISTRATION: Create Accounts Payable vouchers for payments to courts and withholding agencies. Maintain consistency of automated timekeeper and integrated UKG Workforce system setups to ensure correct gross to net calculation. </li><li>CONTROLLING: Review audits of all-time records, pay rate changes, and organizational records and make necessary corrections to pay and benefit history as needed. Review and reconcile payroll-related general ledger accounts and correct fringe benefit errors. Analyze all changes related to contract negotiations and make necessary changes to Payroll Setup to facilitate the updated union contract requirements. </li><li>INTERACTION: Maintain good working relationships with Payroll Manager, Labor Relations, Human Resources on issues requiring mutual understanding and/or agreement related to policy, process or procedure. Maintain good working relationship with vendors and judicial agencies as needed. Provide historical data for grievance and policy changes. </li><li>SUPPORT: Serve as back up to Payroll Manager, up to and including understanding of production processing, policies and procedures for all payroll types. Review and create reports to serve as back up in case of system failure. Will also be assisting with weekly system backups and learning more about UKG BI reports, monthly closing functions, quarterly and payroll and tax reconciliations. </li></ul>
