If you enjoy a smaller-town atmosphere with access to the amenities of a larger city, Lancaster County offers a great setting for both work and personal life.</p> <p>Work involves responsibility for professional civil engineering work in the development, construction, and maintenance of engineering projects.</p> <p>Perform general design of construction projects.</p> <p>Assist the roadway and special projects engineers. Perform roadway and culvert design and work with drainage erosion projects. </p> <p>Assist staff with subdivision review, inspections, applications, and special permits reviews.</p> <p>Assist in modernizing the design section and assist with other updates as required.</p> <p>Obtain permits for construction/programs.</p> <p>Communicate and coordinate with outside agencies and consultants.Civil Engineer III - Graduation from an ABET accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in civil engineering or related field and two years of experience in progressively responsible professional civil engineering work; or any equivalent combination of training and experience.</p> <p>Registration as a Professional Engineer with the State of Nebraska at time of appointment. If registered in another state, must obtain Nebraska registration within six months of appointment.</p> <p>Civil Engineer II - Graduation from an ABET accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in civil engineering or related field and one year of experience in progressively responsible civil engineering work or training; or any equivalent combination of training and experience.</p> <p>Completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.</p> <p>Civil Engineer I - Graduation from an ABET accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in civil engineering or related field; or any equivalent combination of training and experience.</p> <p>Possession of a valid Engineer-in-Training Certificate or the ability to obtain within one year of hire.</p> <p>All positions - Possession of a valid driver's license and the ability to be insured by the County's insurance carrier.</p>
