The medical center offers a full range of services, including 24/7 emergency care, chest pain observation services, breast MRI, 3D digital mammography, laser eye surgery, diagnostic and medical imaging, outpatient surgery, orthopedic care, gastroenterology care, urology care, primary and specialty care, rehab services, laboratory, and infusion services.</p> <p>Our Mission</p> <p>As an academic health care system, we will transform the health of the communities we serve through compassionate, innovative, patient-centered care.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>The charge nurse assists the clinical manager and nursing director with the management of the unit including participating in employee evaluations, staffing and scheduling, patient and preceptor assignments, oversight of resource utilization, and initiating and overseeing quality improvement activities. The charge nurse acts as a resource and provides information/education to unit staff. The charge nurse is involved in service recovery, promoting customer service to both internal and external customers. The charge nurse is a role model of the professional nurse as exemplified by their presence on the unit, participation in nursing department initiatives, and organizational committee meetings.</p> <p>The area of focus</p> <ul> <li>Endoscopy </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Active Kentucky registered nurse license or compact license with privileges to work in Kentucky </li><li>Associate degree in nursing from an accredited college or university </li><li>Basic Life Support (BLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) </li><li>Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) </li><li>Minimum of one (1) year of patient care experience in specialty area </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university </li><li>Two (2) years of patient care experience in specialty area </li><li>Note: additional specialized certifications may be required, or preferred, based on unit </li></ul> <p>Benefits & Perks</p> <ul> <li>Competitive pay & benefits options </li><li>Paid vacation, sick days, and holidays </li><li>Free tuition to UofL for part- and full-time employees & for child/spouse/domestic partner </li><li>401K with employer match </li></ul> <p>#LI-SB1</p>
