It is not intended to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties and skills required of personnel so classified.</p> <p>JOB SUMMARY</p> <p>The Workday Architect leads the design, configuration, and governance of our Workday tenant. This role is critical to ensuring our Workday environment supports the complex and evolving needs of a modern higher education institution, including Human Capital Management (HCM), Financials, Payroll, and Student. Serving as a key member of the enterprise systems team, works collaboratively across administrative and academic units to align tenant architecture with institutional goals-supporting operational excellence, compliance, and strategic transformation</p> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge and skills required for this position are normally obtained through a Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field; Master's degree preferred. </li><li>5+ years of Workday experience, including tenant architecture, configuration, and security. </li><li>Demonstrated expertise in at least two Workday functional areas, such as HCM, Financials, or Payroll. </li><li>Workday certifications strongly preferred (e.g., Workday Pro, Workday Certified Architect, HCM/Finance/Security). </li><li>Strong knowledge of Workday integration tools and frameworks (EIB, Core Connectors, Studio, APIs). </li><li>Experience with Workday Student or experience implementing enterprise systems in higher education </li></ul> <p>KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES</p> <p>1) Lead the architectural design and governance of the Workday tenant, ensuring alignment with higher education requirements and best practices. Develop and maintain scalable, secure, and future-proof tenant configurations across all Workday domains (HCM, Financials, Payroll, Student). 55%</p> <p>2) Serve as the architectural liaison between functional leads, IT, and Workday translating institutional needs into sustainable tenant solutions. 10%</p> <p>3) Manage security design and access controls to support the unique privacy and compliance standards of a higher education environment. 10%</p> <p>4) Oversee configuration change processes and maintain environment integrity across production, sandbox, and implementation tenants. Maintain detailed documentation of tenant architecture, decision frameworks, configuration inventories, and audit logs. 20%</p> <p>5) Lead peer reviews and provide technical mentorship to Workday analysts and support staff. 5%</p> <p>This role is hybrid and in the office a minimum of three days a week to facilitate collaboration and teamwork. In-office presence is an essential part of our on-campus culture and allows for engaging directly with staff and students, sharing ideas, and contributing to a dynamic work environment. Salary ranges are reviewed regularly and are subject to change.</p>
