Expect Excellence-we uphold integrity, respect, and fairness in every interaction.</p> <p>Job Title: Paralegal</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>The Paralegal primarily focuses on preparing standard legal documents, assisting with discovery responses, and supporting attorneys with administrative and procedural tasks.</p> <p>Essential Duties</p> <ul> <li>Prepare and organize legal documents, including discovery pleadings, affidavits, settlement agreements, and legal correspondence. </li><li>Assist with discovery responses, compile exhibits, and support trial or hearing preparation. </li><li>Compile and organize exhibits for trials or hearings. </li><li>Assist attorneys with e-filing, compiling courtesy copies and maintain accurate records in the firm's document management system. </li><li>Track deadlines, monitor case progress, and manage discovery schedules. </li><li>Conduct basic legal research and summarize findings to assist attorney in case preparation. </li><li>Provide general administrative and procedural support to attorneys as needed. </li></ul> <p>Education and Experience</p> <ul> <li>Experience in collections, creditors' rights, or other legal work is a plus. </li><li>ABA-approved paralegal certification or associate degree in paralegal studies is a plus. </li><li>Familiarity with statues, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, and agency rules is helpful but not required. </li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; experience with WordPerfect is a plus. </li><li>Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. </li><li>Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. </li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills. </li><li>Ability to work independently and collaboratively. </li><li>Reliable, responsible, and able to meet deadlines. </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Familiarity with office procedures, records management, and document organization. </li><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to support attorneys in case preparation. </li><li>Competence in using computer systems and software for document preparation and data management. </li><li>Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain professional relationships. </li><li>Willingness to take on challenges and responsibilities. </li></ul> <p>What We Offer</p> <p>Blitt and Gaines, P.C. offers a competitive compensation and benefits package, including:</p> <ul> <li>Competitive base pay </li><li>Paid Time Off (PTO) and Paid Holidays </li><li>Comprehensive health, dental, vision, and life insurance </li><li>Short-Term Disability </li><li>401(k) retirement plan </li><li>Profit sharing </li><li>Professional growth and advancement opportunities </li></ul>
