<p>This position is for the 2025-2026 school year.</p> <p>Freedom is seeking a vibrant person to support some of our youngest learners. As an assistant you would be supporting instruction in the classroom through whole group and small groups. You would also be supervising students, focusing on student needs, and maintaining a positive learning environment.</p> <p>The position is 2.25 hours per day and 179 days per year.</p> <p>(170 instructional days, 7 planning days and 2 extended days)</p> <p>Contracted days will be adjusted depending upon start date.</p> <p>Position is not eligible for benefits unless combined with another position to make full time.</p> <ul> <li></li><li>Must have 48 semester hours, an Associates Degree or have a high school diploma and have passed the paraeducator assessment exam. Must provide a copy to HR upon recommendation to hire. </li></ul> <p>New employees to the district may bring in up to 10 years of comparable, full-time, verified experience. (NOTE: It will be the responsibility of the applicant hired to submit the BCPS verification of experience form to their prior employer to complete and return to HR.)</p> <p>Salary based on Board Approved salary schedule for the 2025-2026 school year.</p> <p>24-25 pay scale</p> <p>Step 0: $15.59 per hour</p> <p>Step 10: $19.19 per hour</p> <p>Although Classified positions are paid on an hourly rate, salary is set up on a year-long contract and divided by the number of remaining paychecks.
