<p>At the University of Iowa Center for Advancement, our mission is to advance the University of Iowa through engagement and philanthropy. The Prospect Research Analyst II provides research support for the advancement of fundraising goals and strategies across the organization and works to identify new prospects who may be interested in giving to the organization; verifies data from multiple sources; partners with clients to identify specific research needs; recognizes relevant and strategic information and how to analyze that information to support prospect pipeline development and cross-functional projects.</p> <ul> <li>This position is eligible for?hybrid?work (telecommuting) which includes working on-site at our office in Iowa City.* </li><li>Please provide a cover letter with your application* </li><li>Research: Understands the role of research in the varied strategies and objectives of fundraising across the organization; analyzes, interprets, and evaluates data from multiple sources; engages in both proactive research (identifying new prospects and projects) and reactive research (responding to directives or requests); partners with clients to identify specific research needs; utilizes screening strategies such as wealth screening, peer screening, in-house database mining, and engagement/affinity model scoring to enhance research efforts. </li><li>Information Management: Accesses data from simple and complex systems without direction; locates relevant and historic information about constituents/prospects in CRM and other internal and external databases, files, and research resources; adds new biographical, wealth, affinity, and interest data to the CRM, confirms and updates existing data, and ensures data recorded on constituents is timely, accurate, and complete. </li><li>Utilizing Research Resources: Determines relevant and strategic information and how to analyze that information to support prospect development efforts; applies multiple data sources to find and confirm data; assists in determining the quality, reliability, and accuracy of sources, including emerging sources like new data vendors, blogs, wikis, and social media; integrates source data to effectively evaluate donor prospects for capacity, inclination, and readiness and share clear, concise, and accurate insights with clients. </li><li>Communications: Presents complex and cross-functional research in strategic and relevant ways; presents information formally and informally to a wide variety of audiences; presents written information clearly and concisely and free of errors; differentiates "nice to know" vs. "need to know" information. </li></ul> <p>Education & Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree required. </li><li>2 - 4 years' experience collecting, analyzing, and synthesizing data into useful insights is required. </li><li>Strong verbal and written communication skills are required. </li><li>Experience in a fundraising office and working in relational databases is preferred. </li><li>Please provide a cover letter with your application* </li></ul>
