<p>Who we are looking for</p> <p>We are looking for a Global Credit Review (GCR), Vice President to provide leadership in the planning, execution and reporting of independent risk assessments of credit risk management practices throughout State Street. Global Credit Review, an independent unit within Corporate Audit, provides independent assurance over State Street's credit risk practices executed within the first and second lines of defense. In this role, you will report directly to the Corporate Audit, Enterprise Risk Management and Global Credit Review, Managing Director. You will also play a critical role in the ongoing development of staff and support various departmental initiatives. This role is based out of Boston, Massachusetts.</p> <p>Due to the onsite role requirements this job needs to be performed primarily in the office with some flex work opportunities available.</p> <p>Why this role is important to us</p> <p>The team you will be joining plays an important role in the overall success of the organization. Join us if making your mark in the financial services industry from day one is a challenge you are up for.</p> <p>What you will be responsible for</p> <p>As a Global Credit Review, Vice President you will:</p> <ul> <li>Conduct regular credit risk assessments to identify systemic and emerging issues and strategic changes to business practices that can be incorporated in the annual review schedule </li><li>Consult with various stakeholders - including business management, Credit Risk, Legal and Finance - to ensure a comprehensive approach to evaluations </li><li>Oversee day-to-day credit review activities, including the management of ongoing exams and continuous monitoring efforts, and ensure that activities are in line with departmental standards </li><li>Regularly assess resourcing needs to adequately fulfill mandate </li><li>Act as lead liaison for business units, other risk teams and external auditors and regulators </li><li>Report periodically to both senior management and the Risk Committee of the Board of Directors on the team's conclusions and overall risk assessment </li><li>Work closely with counterparts in broader Corporate Audit function, as well as Enterprise Risk Management, on related credit risk management issues </li><li>Lead in the development of a risk-based Global Credit Review plan through the execution of detailed risk assessments, which consider existing and emerging risks, key strategic initiatives, regulatory requirements / expectations and effectiveness of the control environment. </li><li>Lead the execution the risk-based GCR plan through the review and approval of GCR work products, ensuring effective coverage and the timely escalation of issues and conclusions. </li><li>Review, finalize and communicate GCR deliverables, including findings, memos and reports to senior and executive management. </li><li>Ensure that review engagements properly align to all internal standards and performance metrics. </li><li>Prepare and deliver periodic management reports to key stakeholders including executive management and governance committees. </li><li>Participate as a non-voting member of business / risk committees and management working groups, promoting balanced discussions and encouraging challenge and debate. </li><li>Maintain effective partnerships with key senior leaders in the Financial Risk organization by identifying potential control risks and gaps while development and implementation activities are underway. </li><li>Influence effective and sustainable improvements to processes and controls. </li><li>Manage, coach and develop staff, including participating in the talent management, staff evaluation, and new hire processes. </li><li>Provide insight on the evolving regulatory environment and interact with regulators. </li><li>Stay abreast of industry matters and efficiently and effectively apply applicable new developments in GCR applicable projects. </li></ul> <p>What we value</p> <p>These skills will help you succeed in this role:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to manage complexity, effectively prioritize multiple tasks and work independently in non-routine situations and in a fast-paced environment. </li><li>Highly collaborative with an ability to develop and maintain strong relationships within the department and with stakeholders across the lines of defense. </li><li>Strategic thinking that focuses on developing innovative solutions to optimize execution approaches while maintaining efficiency. </li><li>Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational and writing skills, as well as proficiency with financial modeling, portfolio analytics and analysis of data from both internal and external sources </li><li>Strong leadership abilities across all levels coupled with effective problem solving, conceptual thinking, quantitative and analytical skills. </li><li>Strong leadership skills that create an inclusive environment for building, cultivating and managing diverse teams. </li><li>Fluency in English - Written and spoken </li></ul> <p>Education & Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>10+ years of experience within a financial services organization, focused on credit and/or capital markets risk management </li><li>Experience with leverage loans, foreign exchange, securities finance, trading limits, ISDA/CSA terms and/or collateral management is preferred </li><li>Demonstrated ability to evaluate complex credit relationships </li><li>Equivalent to a B.S. degree in Business, Finance, or related field </li><li>MBA, MSF, CFA or formal bank credit training preferred </li></ul> <p>Additional requirements</p> <p>While majority of the time you will work from your primary location, some domestic and international travel may be required to a variety of locations where State Street operates.</p> <p>Are you the right candidate?
