This role involves a deep understanding of material properties, testing methodologies, and their applications.</p> <p>Duties and Responsibilities of the Position: Using brief, bulleted, narrative statements, describe the main tasks and responsibilities that an employee in this position would be expected to manage.</p> <ul> <li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams to guide material selection, develop new materials, and address material-related challenges. </li><li>Analyze and evaluate the mechanical, thermal, electrical, and chemical properties of materials for specific applications. </li><li>Conduct material testing and characterization to ensure compliance with performance requirements. </li><li>Research new materials and manufacturing techniques to improve product performance and cost-efficiency. </li><li>Perform failure analysis and root cause investigations of material-related failures or defects. </li><li>Analyze data to identify trends and recommend design or process improvements. </li><li>Provide technical expertise on material selection during the product design and development phase. </li><li>Collaborate with Design teams to ensure materials align with product requirements. </li><li>Ensure materials comply with industry regulations, safety standards, and environmental regulations. </li><li>Work on projects and assignments as part of a large work team. </li><li>Perform accurate analyses, conduct research, and draw meaningful conclusions about potential job/work-area impacts. </li><li>Effectively apply functional, process, and procedural or technical knowledge to address business challenges. </li><li>Perform other duties as needed. </li></ul> <p>Required Experience and Education: Describe the education, years of experience, and any certifications necessary to complete the duties and responsibilities of this position.</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in a related field. </li><li>2-4 years' relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience. </li><li>Six-Sigma and/or Lean certifications are desirable. </li></ul> <p>Competencies: Describe the specific knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this position in terms of technical, managerial, interpersonal skills and unique abilities.</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrates strong knowledge of technical, process, and business principles as well as industry practices and standards. </li><li>Excellent communication, problem solving, and organizational skills. </li><li>Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively. </li><li>High level of integrity and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential data. </li><li>Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite products. </li></ul> <p>Other Pertinent Job Information: Travel time, how many people they will manage, the work environment, etc.</p> <p>Disclaimer: The information on this description is not designed to contain or be interpreted as a comprehensive inventory</p> <p>of all duties, responsibilities, and qualifications required of employees assigned to this job.</p> <ul> <li>Occasional exposure to hazardous conditions caused by noise, moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, and other conditions associated with a high-traffic production floor. </li><li>Must be able to walk long distances and stand for long periods of time. </li><li>Bending, crouching, and stooping may be required. </li><li>Must be able to work in non-climate-controlled facilities. </li><li>The work environment may be a noisy, high traffic manufacturing production floor. </li><li>May be required to work a flexible schedule to include evening and night shifts, weekends, and holidays. </li><li>The ability to wear personal protective gear correctly most of the day. </li><li>The ability to lift 50 pounds regularly. </li></ul> <p>We offer competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package, career opportunities, and an environment of creativity and growth.
