<p>Under the supervision of the Facilities Director, the Warehouse Operator operates a warehouse facility in the successful receipt, distribution, delivery, storage, inventory and issuance of District supplies, equipment, materials and miscellaneous items; maintain inventory control of warehouse supplies and equipment assigned as fixed assets; perform related duties as assigned.</p> <p>Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.</p> <p>Receive purchase orders from Purchasing Department and maintain active purchase orders in a systematic manner manually or via computer.</p> <p>Receive and sign for materials, supplies, books, equipment, tools and miscellaneous items in a timely manner; unload and inspect shipments to verify conformance to purchase order specifications; prepare full or partial receipts and forward to the purchasing department; reject or accept shipments based on inspection and report shortages, damages and other discrepancies to the purchasing department.</p> <p>Schedule, package, load, unload and deliver supplies and equipment from purchase orders and requisitions; assemble non-technical equipment and furniture prior to delivery; arrange for emergency and special deliveries; in coordination with purchasing and accounts payable departments, package and prepare unwanted or defective goods for return to vendors.</p> <p>Prepare fixed asset forms and affix inventory control decals; input and maintain fixed asset and property records utilizing a computer terminal.</p> <p>Store, maintain and rotate office and custodial supplies in stock; fill orders and issue supplies from stock; maintain an inventory of stock on shelves; prepare and maintain a variety of records and reports related to warehouse operations; perform an annual physical inventory of warehouse stock.</p> <p>Confer with and receive calls and visits from District employees requesting special supply orders; communicate with vendors and transportation services regarding shipments; work closely with purchasing and accounts payable departments to resolve problems.</p> <p>Maintain the warehouse in a clean, efficient and organized manner; arrange stock to ensure maximum usage of available space.</p> <p>Operate a variety of equipment including forklift, pallet jack, hand truck and computer terminal to ensure smooth and effective warehouse operations.</p> <p>Perform related duties as assigned.Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school, sufficient training to successfully demonstrate the qualifications listed below and one (1) year of varied storekeeping and delivery experience.</p> <p>CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATION: Valid California driver's license.</p> <p>Demonstrate knowledge of:</p> <ul> <li>Effective warehousing methods, practices and procedures utilized in the receipt, storage, distribution, delivery, inventory and issuance of District supplies, equipment, materials and miscellaneous items. </li><li>Inventory management. </li><li>Equipment and materials used in warehouse operations including familiarity with computerized warehouse or inventory application programs. </li><li>Operate a warehouse facility for the successful receipt, issuance, distribution, delivery, storage, and inventory of District supplies, equipment, materials and miscellaneous items. </li><li>Maintain inventory control of warehouse supplies and equipment. </li><li>Operate a variety of equipment including forklift, pallet jack, hand truck and computer terminal. </li><li>Prepare and maintain a variety of warehouse-related records and reports. </li><li>Organize time and workspace effectively. </li><li>Perform assigned work with speed and accuracy. </li><li>Establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with others. </li><li>Demonstrate a sensitivity to relate to persons with diverse socio-economic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds, including the disabled. </li><li>Observe health and safety rules and regulations. </li><li>Meet schedules and timelines. </li><li>Work independently with minimum supervision. </li></ul>
