This position assures staff are attending to the safety, health, and well-being of youth in a trauma informed manner and environment. The Teacher Counselor resides with assigned youth and offers flexible hours and shifts.</p> <p>Essential Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Build positive relationships with youth within the program, ensuring their safety and well-being. </li><li>Support youths' daily living skills and group management. </li><li>Participate in treatment planning and implementation. </li><li>Create and engage in therapeutic and educational activities. </li><li>Professional development and training. </li><li>Maintain accurate documentation and record keeping, meeting paperwork deadlines. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Education/Credentials/Licensure:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree (those without a bachelor's degree may be considered for the Teacher Counselor Aide title) . </li><li>Valid driver's license and auto insurance. </li></ul> <p>Experience:</p> <p>Entry-level, no experience required.</p> <p>Clearances:</p> <ul> <li>State Police </li><li>FBI clearance per state regulation </li><li>Child Abuse Registry and Clearances </li><li>CPSL Mandated Reporter-Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse training per state regulation. </li><li>Any additional background checks/clearances required by state governing bodies. </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions</p> <ul> <li>Physical Demands. Requires vision, speech, and hearing and a moderate to high level of physical activity including; sitting, standing, walking lifting and carrying as required. Must be able to meet the demands and complete Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI). </li><li>Environmental Factors. Indoors/Outdoors: Residential treatment facility, school, home, community. </li><li>Working Hours. 40 hour week, variable schedule based on program need. </li></ul>
