<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Job Title: Overbrook Early Learning Center Supervisor</p> <p>Location: Overbrook Early Learning Center</p> <p>Reports To: Superintendent of Schools</p> <p>Required Certifications:</p> <ul> <li>Connecticut Early Childhood Certification (e.g., 112 or 113) </li><li>Connecticut Intermediate or Advanced Administrator Certification (092) </li><li>Office of Early Childhood (OEC) Director-Level Credential </li></ul> <p>Education Requirements:</p> <p>Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education and Special Education (Master's degree preferred).</p> <p>Salary range $115,000-$120,000.</p> <p>Preferred Experience and Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>8-10 years of experience in early childhood settings, including Family Resource Centers (FRC), Smart Start or School Readiness (SR) programs </li><li>Demonstrated knowledge of the CT Early Learning and Development Standards (ELDS) and State Curriculum and Assessment Frameworks </li><li>Demonstrated experience with NAEYC standards, accreditation processes, and compliance </li><li>Strong interpersonal, coaching, communication, and facilitation skills </li></ul> <p>Position Summary: The Overbrook Early Learning Center Supervisor provides instructional</p> <p>leadership, operational oversight, and programmatic direction for all early childhood services housed at</p> <p>Overbrook. This includes the School Readiness, Smart Start, Family Resource Center, and any other</p> <p>programs or services aligned with Early Start CT legislation. The Supervisor also serves as the Local</p> <p>Governance Partner (LGP) Liaison, connecting early childhood providers to state resources and</p> <p>ensuring continuous quality improvement in accordance with OEC policies and contracts. This role</p> <p>combines the duties of a school based leader/administrator with deep expertise in early childhood</p> <p>education and community partnerships.</p> <p>Primary Responsibilities:</p> <p>Instructional and Programmatic Leadership:</p> <ul> <li>Oversee the implementation of developmentally appropriate curriculum aligned with CT ELDS and state frameworks. </li><li>Supervise and evaluate certified and non-certified staff, including parent educators and paraprofessionals. </li><li>Provide coaching and professional development aligned to program and individual staff goals. </li><li>Ensure a safe, nurturing, inclusive learning environment that promotes social-emotional, cognitive, physical, and creative growth. </li><li>Serve as special education case manager for eligible students and ensure IDEA compliance. </li><li>Maintain NAEYC accreditation for all School Readiness classrooms. </li></ul> <p>Administrative and Operational Oversight:</p> <ul> <li>Act as building leader with responsibilities comparable to a school principal, including instructional leadership, climate and culture, family and community engagement, and staff supervision. </li><li>Manage enrollment processes, family fee assessments (including adherence to SR Alert SR-03- 01), and state reporting for School Readiness, FRC, and IDEA. </li><li>Complete monthly and annual reports (School Readiness, Family Resource, NAEYC). </li><li>Support families in accessing Care4Kids, social services, and educational advocacy. </li></ul> <p>Local Governance Partner (LGP) Liaison Duties:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Conduct at least quarterly visits to School Readiness providers.</p> </li><li> <p>Monitor contract compliance and OEC general policies using standardized tools (e.g., E-License via iPad).</p> </li><li> <p>Provide coaching and technical assistance around:</p> </li><li> <p>Enrollment processes (e.g., documentation, family income verification, fee structures)</p> </li><li> <p>Family engagement practices</p> </li><li> <p>Health and safety protocols</p> </li><li> <p>Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI), connecting providers to Elevate service navigators as needed</p> </li><li> <p>Document findings using OEC-approved electronic systems; communicate findings to OEC program managers.</p> </li><li> <p>Identify whether challenges are provider-specific or systemic within the community and respond with targeted support or systemic programming.</p> </li><li> <p>Develop a formal structure for communicating urgent provider issues outside of quarterly reports.</p> </li></ul> <p>Community and Family Engagement:</p> <ul> <li>Facilitate parent education groups, child development sessions, and parent/child activities. </li><li>Maintain and support the Family Resource Center Parent Advocacy Council. </li><li>Build and sustain partnerships with local service providers, early childhood agencies, and higher education institutions. </li><li>Collaborate with community stakeholders through active participation in the East Haven Early Childhood Collaborative and state-level OEC and School Readiness meetings. </li></ul>
