<p>Description</p> <p>Summary</p> <p>The Production Manager oversees, organizes, and manages all aspects of production in the JCC Performing Arts Department. This is a production management position that requires technical experience, a wide base of knowledge about live events production, excellent communication, and strong managerial skills.</p> <p>Hours: Full Time with frequent nights and weekends</p> <p>Knowledge & Responsibilities</p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.</p> <ul> <li>Oversees and participates in the set-up, run and strike of all events, including performances, rehearsals, lectures/seminars, banquets, conferences, expos, meetings, receptions, weddings, etc. held in the Paul A. Johnston Auditorium, Tart Great Hall/Lobby, Student Lounge, Lecture Halls, classrooms and grounds on the main campus and off campus sites and all other areas deemed necessary. </li><li>Serves as the main production point of contact for all tour managers, production managers, college personnel, and renters for internal and external events as it pertains to production and technical needs. Ascertains the technical requirements for all events during pre-production from the event contacts, and makes sure these needs are met. </li><li>Periodically supervises up to 25 temporary part-time event production staff. Schedules all production staff for events and work calls. </li><li>Trains a diverse staff, including JCC Students, on all aspects of production, manages day to day crew tasks, and oversees crew on all performances and events. Comfortably works closely with inexperienced and experienced staff. </li><li>Works with production rental companies as needed to procure appropriate equipment for our events. </li><li>Trains as necessary on our equipment and software, including ETC ION light board, X32 sound board, Extron AV equipment, Bright Sign Signage Players, and more. </li><li>Communicates with operations team to ensure all production facilities remain welcoming, clean, and maintained. </li><li>Ensures that backstage areas are clean, well maintained, and in compliance with safety regulations. </li><li>Facilitates safety inspections, in collaboration with our Facility Services Division, to ensure all certificates and permits are up to date. </li><li>Monitors equipment, supplies, and materials inventories. Recommends purchases when necessary, keeping in mind the unique needs and budget of the space. </li><li>Performs all other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Supervisory Responsibilities: This job periodically supervises up to 25 on-call event staff.</p> <p>Minimum & Preferred Qualifications</p> <p>QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.</p> <p>EducationMinimum: Associate's Degree</p> <p>Experience Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in related field</p> <p>Experience Minimum: Five (5) to seven (7) years' experience in a related field</p> <p>Additional Information</p> <p>Language Skills</p> <ul> <li>Ability to read and write routine reports and correspondence </li><li>Ability to read and write schedules. </li><li>Ability to speak effectively to vendors, visiting artists, clients, and employees </li></ul> <p>Mathematical Skills</p> <ul> <li>Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. </li></ul> <p>Reasoning Ability</p> <ul> <li>Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. </li><li>Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. </li></ul> <p>Computer Skills</p> <p>To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient with basic computer software such as Microsoft Office Suite, and have familiarity with software necessary to run productions such as QLab, ETC EOS, X32 edit, etc.</p> <p>Certificates, Licenses, Registrations</p> <p>Preferred: Driver's License, CPR/First Aid</p> <p>Physical Demands:</p> <p>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
