<p>What to Expect</p> <p>The EHS Specialist, Commercial Energy is responsible for driving, influencing, and achieving Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) process excellence, regulatory compliance, and overall risk reduction across Tesla's Commercial, Utility, and Charging deployments for North America.</p> <p>This position reports to the EHS Manager, Energy Deployment, and will ensure world-class standards are met and sustained across operations. The role will interface with senior regional leadership, front-line operational staff, contracting partners, and other related teams within Tesla to drive.</p> <p>This role requires regional travel (up to 40%) with occasional international trips.</p> <p>What You'll Do</p> <ul> <li>Serve as a key advisor on EHS matters to Tesla Energy business leaders, associates, EHS members, and contractors </li><li>Act as an electrical and EHS technical expert for Legal compliance and risk management across all product deployment phases, focusing on safe design, installation, commissioning, operation, and maintenance </li><li>Conduct training sessions, inspections, event learnings, and emergency preparedness initiatives to influence daily operations and drive EHS improvements aligned with Tesla's vision and values </li><li>Play a key role in contractor management within North America, including onboarding, performance monitoring, and EHS alignment using Tesla's workforce management system </li><li>Respond to and learn from EHS events, analyze root causes, and develop preventative actions with management and business teams, while promoting Human & Organizational Performance principles in operations </li><li>Identify operational gaps and spearhead creative EHS solutions, collaborating with cross-functional teams and key stakeholders, encompassing electrical and other safety aspects </li><li>Lead EHS meetings to communicate improvements, learnings, and performance metrics, and actively engage in field activities to educate, train, and empower teams on EHS concepts to minimize risk in line with Tesla's EHS vision and values </li></ul> <p>What You'll Bring</p> <ul> <li>3 years of progressive EHS experience in large organizations, with an educational background in EHS, engineering, or related fields </li><li>Experience in the electric power generation, transmission, storage, or distribution industries, with a preference for detailed knowledge of lithium-ion battery storage </li><li>Practical experience in construction safety, working at heights, electrical safety, and environmental risks, with knowledge of local and national regulatory agencies </li><li>Capable of adapting to a fast-paced, globally expanding organization using a 'first-principles' approach, coupled with strong written and verbal communication skills for interacting across senior management, regulators, frontline workers, and third-party clients </li><li>Excellent interpersonal abilities, attention to detail, problem-solving expertise, the capacity to multitask and prioritize in a dynamic environment, and the ability to work independently and as a proactive, creative team player </li><li>Proven skills in managing complex, multidisciplinary projects and assignments with accountability for outcomes, including experience in training and educating employees in EHS initiatives </li><li>Demonstrated experience in applying governmental and regulatory EHS regulations in various settings, strong problem-solving abilities, effective relationship-building and influencing skills at all management levels, and proficiency in MS Office 365 Suite </li></ul> <p>Compensation and Benefits</p> <p>Benefits</p> <p>Along with competitive pay, as a full-time Tesla employee, you are eligible for the following benefits at day 1 of hire:</p> <ul> <li>Medical plans > plan options with $0 payroll deduction </li><li>Family-building, fertility, adoption and surrogacy benefits </li><li>Dental (including orthodontic coverage) and vision plans, both have options with a $0 paycheck contribution </li><li>Company Paid (Health Savings Accounts) HSA Contribution when enrolled in the High-Deductible medical plan with HSA </li><li>Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) </li><li>401(k) with employer match, Employee Stock Purchase Plans, and other financial benefits </li><li>Company paid Basic Life, AD&D </li><li>Short-term and long-term disability insurance (90 day waiting period) </li><li>Employee Assistance Program </li><li>Sick and Vacation time (Flex time for salary positions, Accrued hours for Hourly positions), and Paid Holidays </li><li>Back-up childcare and parenting support resources </li><li>Voluntary benefits to include: critical illness, hospital indemnity, accident insurance, theft & legal services, and pet insurance </li><li>Weight Loss and Tobacco Cessation Programs </li><li>Tesla Babies program </li><li>Commuter benefits </li><li>Employee discounts and perks program </li></ul> <p>Tesla is an Equal Opportunity employer.
