Coordinate assigned campus student activities and services, manage and supervise the development of a high school master schedule, and provide leadership and management of all state and national testing.</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <p>Education/Certification:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Master's degree required in educational administration</p> </li><li> <p>Texas principal or other appropriate Texas certificate</p> </li><li> <p>Advanced Education Leadership (AEL) certification, Instructional Leadership Training (ILT), or Instructional Leadership Development (ILD)</p> </li><li> <p>Certified Appraisal System (T-TESS) or District Adopted Appraisal System</p> </li></ul> <p>Special Knowledge/Skills:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Thorough understanding of school operations</p> </li><li> <p>Strong background in academic content and instructional strategy</p> </li><li> <p>Strong organizational, communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to coordinate campus support operations</p> </li></ul> <p>Experience:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Three years' experience as a classroom teacher</p> </li><li> <p>At least one year experience as administrator or assistant principal</p> </li></ul> <p>Major Responsibilities and Duties:</p> <p>Instructional Management</p> <ul> <li> <p>Provide instructional feedback to teachers and administration based on classroom observations and walk-throughs.</p> </li><li> <p>Develop and manage the high school master schedule.</p> </li><li> <p>Participate in Instructional Rounds.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist in the disaggregation and interpretation of data in order to assist in developing appropriate next steps.</p> </li><li> <p>Oversee and manage all state and federal testing.</p> </li><li> <p>Participate in development and evaluation of educational programs.</p> </li><li> <p>Encourage and support development of instructional programs, helping teachers implement district initiatives.</p> </li><li> <p>Promote use of technology in teaching/learning process.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist in the development and implementation of campus safety nets.</p> </li><li> <p>Participate in development of campus improvement plan with staff, parents and community members.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide leadership to assistant principal and other administrators as seen necessary from the principal.</p> </li></ul> <p>School/Organizational Climate</p> <ul> <li> <p>Promote a positive, caring climate for learning.</p> </li><li> <p>Deal sensitively and fairly with persons from diverse cultural backgrounds.</p> </li><li> <p>Communicate effectively with students, parents and staff.</p> </li><li> <p>Participate in development of campus improvement plan with staff, parents and community members.</p> </li><li> <p>Help principal develop, maintain, and use information systems to maintain and track progress on campus performance objectives and academic excellence indicators.</p> </li></ul> <p>Personnel Management</p> <ul> <li> <p>Observe employee performance, record observations, and conduct evaluation conferences.</p> </li><li> <p>Manage and supervise the counseling department.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist in interviewing, selecting, and orienting new staff.</p> </li></ul> <p>Administration and Fiscal/Facilities Management</p> <ul> <li> <p>Supervise operations in principal's absence.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist in planning daily school activities by participating in the development of class schedules, teacher assignments, and extracurricular activity schedules.</p> </li><li> <p>Supervise reporting and monitoring of student grading</p> </li><li> <p>Work with department heads and faculty to compile annual budget requests based on documented program needs.</p> </li><li> <p>Requisition supplies, textbooks, and equipment; check inventory; maintain records; and verify receipts for materials.</p> </li><li> <p>Comply with federal and state laws, State Board of Education rules, and board policy.</p> </li><li> <p>Student Management</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure that student data is used to improve student achievement</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure that school rules are uniformly observed and that student discipline is appropriate and equitable.</p> </li><li> <p>Conduct conferences on student and school issues with parents, students, and teachers.</p> </li></ul> <p>Professional Growth and Development</p> <ul> <li> <p>Participate in professional development to improve skills related to job assignment.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist in campus directed professional development as directed by the principal.</p> </li></ul> <p>School/Community Relations</p> <ul> <li> <p>Articulate the district and school mission to the community and solicit its support in realizing the mission.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrate awareness of school-community needs and initiate activities to meet those needs.</p> </li><li> <p>Utilize appropriate and effective techniques to encourage community and parent involvement.</p> </li></ul> <p>Supervisory Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Share supervisory responsibility for professional staff with the school principal.
