<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Newtown Public Schools</p> <p>Special Education Preschool Teacher</p> <p>March 5, 2026</p> <p>POSITION: Special Education Teacher (1.0)</p> <p>SCHOOL: Newtown Preschool</p> <p>LOCATION: Reed Intermediate School</p> <p>START DATE: August 24, 2026</p> <p>RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Provide direct, systematic instruction in academic, social-emotional, communication, behavioral, and adaptive skill areas. </li><li>Design differentiated lessons aligned to IEP goals and the Connecticut Early Learning and Development Standards. </li><li>Serve as case manager for assigned students, ensuring compliance with all special education timelines and documentation requirements. </li><li>Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). </li><li>Collaborate with related service providers, preschool staff, and families. </li><li>Supervise and collaborate with paraprofessionals to ensure effective implementation of student goals. </li><li>Prepare comprehensive reports and present findings during Planning and Placement Team (PPT) meetings. </li><li>Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and district special education regulations and timelines. </li></ul> <p>REMUNERATION: ?
