<p>The Manager - Accounting is responsible for duties to include month-end close, general ledger balance sheet reconciliations, budgeting, audit preparation assistance, and journal entry preparation. This position maintains compliance with generally accepted accounting procedures (GAAP). This position ensures the accurate and timely general ledger and period-end closings.</p> <ul> <li>Handles all assigned accounting functions with minimal supervision, to include general ledger journal entries, balance sheet review and expense budget variance analysis. </li><li>Prepares schedules and analysis for various items including, but not limited to audits and budgets. </li><li>Examines accounting records, financial statements, or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting standards. </li><li>Demonstrates full cycle experience to include but not limited to month end and year end close process, general ledger balance sheet and expense account reconciliations, audit, budget, and journal entry preparation. </li><li>Ensures that monthly financial reporting schedule is met; this includes ensuring that the financial statements are timely, accurate, that all accounts are reconciled and that all relevant detail is distributed to management on a timely basis. </li><li>Analyzes financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and capital, and prepares balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports to summarize current and projected company financial position. </li><li>Assists departmental leaders and the budget team in development of operational budgets, interpreting and reporting on variances from assigned areas. </li><li>Is responsible for department's operational excellence; ensures department delivers quality services in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, and professional standards. </li><li>Manage team members which include orientation, development and evaluation of personnel, and monitoring the provision of delivering quality services. Participates in the recruiting, interviewing and selecting of team members following policies, guidelines and applicable laws. Evaluates their performance relative to job goals and requirements. Provides coaching to staff, recommends in-service education programs, and ensures adherence to internal policies and standards. </li><li>Is responsible for the fiscal management of department; assures proper utilization of organization's financial resources. </li><li>Effectively communicates departmental, organization, and industry information to staff. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Education</p> <ul> <li>Associates Degree Accounting, Finance Required </li><li>Bachelor's Degree Accounting, Finance Preferred </li></ul> <p>Minimum Work Experience</p> <ul> <li>5 years Accounting experience, preferably in a health care environment, or in a multi-entity company. Required and </li><li>1-3 years Leadership experience supervising a team in accounts payable, general accounting, treasury, tax, payroll, property/equipment, or related area. Required </li></ul>
