Learn More Here</p> <p>The Cook works in the Population Engagement and Research Lab (PEARL) supporting high quality, safe production of food for our research participants in support of dietary studies. Our focus is on safety and service excellence. We foster a positive environment to connect with our community, show pride in our work, and grow as a team.</p> <p>Position Highlights:</p> <ul> <li>Be part of the team at the forefront of groundbreaking therapeutic nutrition research </li><li>Contribute to the prevention of cancer and improved survivorship for our community and patients </li><li>Work with talented chefs and research faculty </li><li>Flexible, day-time schedule. </li></ul> <p>The Ideal Candidate:</p> <ul> <li>Positive attitude, adaptable and flexible to needs of the kitchen and research teams </li><li>Knowledge and excellence in food safety and sanitation. </li><li>Knowledge in modified diets is preferred. </li><li>Proficient knife skills. </li><li>Demonstrate a cooperative working relationship with all members of the Department and Moffitt Cancer Center staff, patients, visitors, and vendors. </li><li>Serves as a role model for new employees. Works in harmony in a team setting. </li></ul> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Responsibilities include duties related to preparing and serving food for patients, staff and guests. Must have the ability to follow recipes. </li><li>General cleaning of food service equipment, utensils and dishware </li><li>Follows established department standards of safety in food preparation, service, cleaning, maintenance of equipment and maintains personal safety. </li><li>Follows established department standards of sanitation in food preparation, service, cleaning and maintenance of equipment. </li><li>Ability to properly use, dispose of and mix chemicals. </li><li>Completes work in a timely manner while focusing on safety, quality and customer service. Demonstrates the ability to organize and prioritize workflow. </li><li>Demonstrates the ability to adapt to changes in assignment and procedures. Arrives on time and ready to work at the start of the assigned shift and works to completion of the shift. </li><li>Presents a positive and professional attitude at all times. </li></ul> <p>Credentials and Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Three (3) years of relevant cooking experience in high volume kitchens, from scratch experience preferred. Firm knowledge of cooking techniques, cooking temperatures and storage procedures. (OR) High School Diploma/GED and two (2) years of relevant cooking experience in high volume kitchens, from scratch experience preferred. </li><li>Firm knowledge of cooking techniques, cooking temperatures and storage procedures. </li><li>Knowledge of basic principles of food production and service in healthcare setting. Demonstrate ability to follow basic oral/written instructions in English.
