<p>The purpose of this position is to manage airport security and access control by ensuring daily compliance with federal regulations by performing audits, assessments, training, and corrective action. This class works independently, under limited supervision, reporting major activities through periodic meetings.</p> <p>The essential functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the class as necessary.</p> <ul> <li>Ensures daily compliance with airport security regulations. Performs audits, assessments, training, and initiates corrective actions as needed. </li><li>Supervises the credentialing program for airport access. </li><li>Directly supports, maintains, and updates the Airport Security Program, policies, or other security-related documents to ensure compliance with Federal Regulations. </li><li>Monitors surveillance cameras and access control systems. </li><li>Communicates and coordinates with security departments at the federal, state, and local levels and serves as the airport's primary point of contact for TSA. </li><li>Requires being on call 24/7/365 days for airport security matters. </li><li>Performs related work as assigned. </li></ul> <p>MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:</p> <ul> <li>Requires Bachelor's degree or education and training equivalent to four years of college education in business, liberal arts, or any field other than engineering or the hard sciences. </li><li>Requires over ten years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. </li><li>Airport Security Coordinator Certification within 6 months of hiring. </li><li>Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving history. </li><li>May be required to work nights, weekends, holidays and emergencies (man-made or natural) to meet the business needs of Beaufort County. </li></ul> <p>All applicants tentatively selected for a position with Beaufort County Council will be required to submit to urinalysis to screen for the illegal use of drugs and to a background check prior to appointment. Employment is contingent upon clearing both the drug screening and background investigation. Beaufort County is an Equal Opportunity Employer.</p>
