<p>Position Title: Assistant Mechanical Superintendent Reports To: Mechanical Department Manager</p> <p>Position Summary:</p> <p>Assists Mechanical/Machinist Superintendent in supervising approximately 15-20 machinists and mechanics work in support of ship repair and product fabrication. This includes but is not limited to: repair of mechanical components, manufacture and repair of components by machining, fabricating components with CNC cutters, mills, lathes, disassembly/reassembly of various shipboard machinery/equipment, and installation/re-installation of shipboard machinery/equipment. Under direction and in collaboration with the Superintendent, supervises union ship workers engaged in mechanical and machinist duties ensuring accomplishment of assigned work on time and within budget. Enforces safety and environmental regulations. The assistant superintendent generates job assignments and communicates to subordinate employees, makes recommendations to the superintendent on matters related to hiring, termination, suspension, advancement, promotion, demotion, discipline, addresses or adjust employee grievances and other supervisory duties as required. In the absence of the Superintendent, will assume duties and responsibilities as directed by the Production Manager.</p> <p>Pacific Shipyards International, LLC. Evening, weekend, and holiday work will be required based on the needs of the business. </li><li>Minimum five (5) years of ship repair or marine industry experience preferred </li><li>Extensive knowledge of ship repair processes. </li></ul>
