Its 580 judges and commissioners work in one of the 36 facilities within the Court's 12 judicial districts and are supported by more than 4,800 full-time Court employees. Located in Southern California, Los Angeles County is geographically one of the nation's largest counties, covering 4,752 square miles and, with over 10,400,000 residents, is also one of its most populous counties.</p> <p>ABOUT THE POSITION</p> <p>Looking to take a lead role in software execution while mentoring a high-performing development team? As a Software Development Supervisor, you will directly influence code quality, architecture decisions, and deployment efficiency. This hands-on role is deeply embedded in the development lifecycle-leading code reviews, optimizing CI/CD workflows, troubleshooting complex software issues, and refining engineering processes to ensure scalable, secure applications.</p> <p>You'll develop reusable components, enhance software reliability, and implement best practices across cloud platforms and system integrations. Additionally, you'll mentor junior engineers, guiding them in development methodologies, automation strategies, and software design principles. If you thrive in high-impact technical execution and are ready to elevate development efficiency, this role offers the perfect blend of engineering and leadership.</p> <p>Key responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Software Development Execution & Leadership - Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-quality software, implementing best practices for performance optimization and maintainability. </li><li>Technical Mentorship & Team Growth - Provide hands-on coaching and training, guiding engineers through complex technical challenges while fostering continuous learning and development. </li><li>Code Quality Enforcement & Engineering Process Optimization - Lead structured code reviews, implement collaborative programming techniques, and refine engineering workflows to enhance software reliability and maintainability. </li><li>Advanced Troubleshooting & Root Cause Analysis - Diagnose and resolve complex software issues, applying systematic debugging techniques and working closely with cross-functional teams to improve system performance. </li><li>CI/CD Pipeline Optimization & Automation - Architect and refine CI/CD workflows, automating deployment pipelines to streamline software delivery while ensuring stability and rapid iteration. </li><li>Software Architecture & System Integration - Develop reusable software components and seamless system integrations, applying best practices in software design and interoperability. </li><li>Technical Tool & Platform Evaluation - Assess and integrate third-party development tools, ensuring they align with technical requirements and improve engineering efficiency. </li></ul> <p>For a detailed job description, click here. Applicants must meet the requirements stated in this bulletin.</p> <p>TELEWORK OPPORTUNITIES</p> <p>This position is eligible for telework following an initial training period.</p> <p>MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS</p> <p>To qualify, you must meet one of the following options at the time of application:</p> <p>OPTION I: 9+ years' experience in software development.</p> <p>OPTION II: Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, management information systems, or related field; -AND- 5+ years' experience in software development.</p> <p>OPTION III: Any combination of education and experience that is equivalent to the qualifications.</p> <p>Note: Credit for experience is given based on a 40-hour workweek. Part-time experience is credited on a part-time ratio, i.e., working 20 hours per week for two months equals one month of experience. No additional credit is given for overtime.</p> <p>DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS</p> <p>The ideal candidate will possess the following desirable qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Software Development & Engineering Mastery - Expertise in designing, developing, testing, and maintaining high-quality software using industry-standard tools and methodologies. </li><li>Cloud & Platform Proficiency - Hands-on experience with development across platforms such as Azure, Windows, iOS, and Google Cloud, ensuring scalable and secure solutions. </li><li>Software Design & Integration Expertise - Strong understanding of software design principles, application development methodologies, and integration strategies for seamless system interoperability. </li><li>DevOps & CI/CD Implementation - Practical knowledge of automation, deployment pipelines, and continuous integration/delivery practices to enhance development efficiency. </li><li>Database Design & Optimization - Proficiency in data modeling, database architecture, and best practices for efficient data access and management. </li><li>Code Quality & Software Reliability - Experience in software reusability, reliability metrics, and structured development life cycles to maintain robust and maintainable applications. </li><li>Technical Leadership & Mentorship - Ability to supervise, mentor, and develop a team of engineers, ensuring high-performance collaboration and knowledge-sharing. </li><li>AI Tools & Technology - Experience with AI tools such as, but not limited to: LLM, DocumentAI, Form Recognition, etc. </li></ul> <p>WHAT TO EXPECT NEXT</p> <p>Qualifying evaluation of experience based upon submitted application materials and supplemental questionnaire.
