If you're looking for a place where you can build a meaningful career and help power and support our communities, we'd love to welcome you to the team.</p> <p>PSEG is not offering visa sponsorship for this position.</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>PSEG is looking for a Summer 2026 Asset Management (Electric) Intern for the (Distribution Power Systems Group).</p> <p>This job involves working as a modeling and simulation engineer, technical analyst, and problem solver, supporting power quality assessments using field data.</p> <p>As an intern, you'll contribute to grid analysis using AMI and SCADA data, support O&M teams with actionable insights, assess the impact of IBRs and load growth, assist in post-event reviews to improve preparedness, help monitor and enhance power quality, and apply advanced tools to support grid resilience and modernization.</p> <p>This position will be Hybrid Flexible Intern will be required to travel to several PSE&G locations throughout the state during the internship program.</p> <p>Job Responsibilities</p> <p>Assignments will include working alongside professionals in the following areas:</p> <ol> <li>Modeling and Simulation </li></ol> <ul> <li>Build and analyze distribution system models using CYME </li><li>Run simulations to evaluate grid performance, reliability, and DER integration </li></ul> <ol start="2"> <li>Technical Analysis </li></ol> <ul> <li>Interpret AMI, SCADA, and field data to extract actionable insights </li><li>Use Power BI to visualize system metrics and communicate findings </li><li>Assist in impact assessments of inverter-based resources and new technologies </li></ul> <ol start="3"> <li>Problem Solving </li></ol> <ul> <li>Investigate system anomalies and propose data-driven solutions </li><li>Contribute to post-event analysis to improve grid preparedness and response </li><li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot modeling and operational challenges </li></ul> <ol start="4"> <li>Power Quality Support </li></ol> <ul> <li>Analyze voltage profiles, harmonics, and flicker using field measurements </li><li>Assist in identifying and mitigating power quality issues across the network </li><li>Document findings and support recommendations for system improvements </li></ul> <p>Job Specific Qualifications</p> <p>Required education/skills: The successful incumbent(s) must be actively pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree from an accredited institution in Electrical Engineering and graduating between December 2026 and May 2029. Students graduating in May/June 2026 are not eligible unless they are enrolling in a post-graduate degree program in the fall term of 2026. PSEG recognizes institutions of higher education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent. Incumbents must have completed sophomore level course work for consideration.</p> <ul> <li>Because this position will require traveling to various PSEG locations, a valid driver's license and a safe driving record is required. </li><li>Department of Energy's regulation 10 CFR 810 is required. </li></ul> <p>Desired:</p> <ul> <li>3.0 GPA </li><li>Strong interest in power systems and grid technologies </li><li>Proficient in Python, SQL, and Excel </li><li>Passion for working with large datasets to uncover insights </li><li>Currently a rising junior or senior in an electrical engineering program </li><li>Excellent communication skills </li><li>Able to ork independently and in team environments </li><li>Basic understanding of Distributed Energy Resources (DER) principles </li><li>Solid foundation in circuit theory </li></ul> <p>All PSEG internship roles are paid at an hourly rate, however there are no medical benefits associated with these positions. Incumbents are expected to work 40 hours per week over the duration of the summer internship. We are targeting currently enrolled/matriculating students that are able to commute to their designated work location as needed. Housing, transportation, and immigration support will not be provided in association with these positions</p> <p>Some positions at PSEG require access to information covered by the Department of Energy's regulation 10 CFR 810 (Part 810).
