Be the difference.</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>Provides occupational therapy treatment under the direction of a licensed Occupational Therapist according to the principles and practices of Occupational Therapy. Collaborates with team members in the implementation of the patient's individualized plan of care. Provides patient / family education, completes documentation of patient treatments, charges and other information as needed.</p> <p>Accountabilities</p> <ul> <li>Implements and manages a specific and comprehensive treatment plan </li><li>Administers patient treatments within the plan of care outlined by a licensed occupational </li></ul> <p>therapist and progresses patients as indicated</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrates basic knowledge of diagnoses / conditions seen in occupational therapy </li><li>Interacts with others involved in the patient's care to incorporate an interdisciplinary </li></ul> <p>treatment approach for coordinated quality care</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrates awareness and use of proper safety measures regarding the patients, </li></ul> <p>others in the home and self</p> <ul> <li>Assesses patient response to treatment, modifying when appropriate with input from the </li></ul> <p>supervising therapist</p> <ul> <li>Provides information regarding follow-up services which may include a referral to other </li></ul> <p>community resources</p> <ul> <li>Actively participates in patient and family education process </li><li>Provides education and training to patients, families and caregivers regarding diagnoses, </li></ul> <p>proress and long-term functional outcomes</p> <ul> <li>Teaches, counsels and communicates with the patient, family or caregiver educational </li></ul> <p>information related to the patients diagnosis condition</p> <ul> <li>Supports and provides educational material to patient / families for support grous as well </li></ul> <p>as community resources</p> <ul> <li>Complies with departmental policies for documentation </li><li>Follows POC as defined by the primary therapist and documents patient's progress toward </li></ul> <p>goals</p> <ul> <li>Documentation is in compliance with chart review audit components </li><li>Documents all aspects of assessment, planning, treatment and discharge in the computer </li></ul> <p>in a timely manner</p> <ul> <li>Daily treatment records are noted in the computer on a daily basis and are clear and </li></ul> <p>professional in terminology</p> <ul> <li>Appropriate abreviations and medical terminology is utilized </li><li>Obtains re-evaluations as required by S.C. Occupational Therapy licensure </li><li>Productivity </li><li>Assists with coverage within the Occupational Therapy staff </li><li>Meets the team / department productivity standards </li><li>Complies with established standards of efficient patient scheduling to maintain appropriate </li></ul> <p>levels of productivity</p> <ul> <li>Accepts and examines performance feedback and incorporates into conduct </li><li>Department and Team Responsibiities </li><li>Attends staff meetings, team meetings and mandatory inservices as scheduled </li><li>Completes mandatory training in a timely manner </li><li>Complete PPD testing prcedures by the end of the employee's birth month </li><li>Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality </li></ul> <p>improvement programs, safety, environmental and infection control standards</p> <ul> <li>Completes assignments in a timely and thorough manner </li><li>Assists with care and maintenance of departmental equipment and supplies </li><li>Performs other related duties as assigned or requested </li><li>Completes schedules, charge tickets and productivity sheets and mileage forms in an </li></ul> <p>accurate and timely manner</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrates willingness to assist and is respectful of the rights of other team members </li><li>Assumes an additional team/department responsibility </li><li>Complies with department procedures </li><li>Provides supervision to Occupational Therapy Assistant students. </li></ul> <p>Supervisory/Management Responsibility</p> <p>This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.</p> <p>Minimum Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Associate's Degree from an AOTA Accredited Occupational Therapist Assistant Program </li><li>2 years of Occupational Therapy experience </li></ul> <p>Required Certifications/Registrations/Licenses</p> <ul> <li>Licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of South Carolina </li><li>SCDL - South Carolina DRIVERS LICENSE </li><li>You can use a valid driver's license issued by the state from which you moved for 90 days, after which time you must surrender it and obtain a South Carolina driver license. </li></ul> <p>In Lieu Of The Above Minimum Requirements</p> <p>Team members employed in this job prior to July 1, 2020 are grandfathered under prior educational and experience requirements.
