<p>Position Type:</p> <p>Office/Clerk</p> <p>Date Posted:</p> <p>8/15/2025</p> <p>Location:</p> <p>Administration Building, Central Office</p> <p>District:</p> <p>  Grosse Pointe Public Schools  Additional Information: Show/Hide</p> <ul> <li> <p>Job Summary:</p> </li><li> <p>Accurately maintain data and records in multiple computerized systems and office files.</p> </li><li> <p>Generate routine reports and lists using information from computerized systems and other sources.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist with posting approved job vacancies and support the district's recruitment and hiring efforts.</p> </li><li> <p>Track and monitor new hire and employee compliance with various requirements.</p> </li><li> <p>Process employee name and address changes in multiple systems and files.</p> </li><li> <p>Review and process timesheets required for contracted staff payroll.</p> </li><li> <p>Meet with new and existing staff to take photos and create employee badges.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist with maintaining office supplies and equipment/machines for the department.</p> </li><li> <p>Act as back-up to other HR office support staff, including substitute coordinator.</p> </li><li> <p>Perform reception and other general clerical duties as needed.</p> </li><li> <p>District Absence Manager through Frontline and EduStaff (Sub Coordinator)</p> </li><li> <p>Track and process bonus pay for substitutes</p> </li><li> <p>Reconciles all absences and pays for substitute teachers, paras, game/event workers, athletics, lunchroom supervisors, and all hourly contract workers</p> </li><li> <p>Coordinates lunchroom supervisors and game/event staff</p> </li><li> <p>Reviews certifications before placements</p> </li><li> <p>Prepares annual work calendars for Office, Plant, and Paraprofessionals, including the holiday work schedule chart. Processes annual rollover of absence banks for Office, Plant, Paraprofessionals, and.Tech units</p> </li><li> <p>Liaison between the office staff in buildings and the Central Administration</p> </li><li> <p>Presents at newly hired teacher and paraprofessionals orientations and assists new staff with understanding of absence recording, days off, contract, etc.</p> </li><li> <p>Sort mail and distribute</p> </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Relevant work experience providing clerical support in a professional office setting.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated ability to work with sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong computer skills including working knowledge of Google Office Products, Microsoft Office, etc.</p> </li><li> <p>Excellent organizational skills and the ability to focus on details.</p> </li><li> <p>Excellent customer service skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Excellent verbal and written communication skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated ability to communicate professionally and diplomatically with others.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure and in an independent manner.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated ability to be flexible and adapt to changes</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated ability to work respectfully and cooperatively in the workplace and as a productive member of a team.</p> </li><li> <p>Must meet the State standards for a clear criminal history and provide mandated fingerprint clearance</p> </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Previous experience working in an HR department strongly preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>Previous experience working within an HRIS (or other electronic database systems) strongly preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>Previous experience working in a K-12 school environment or similar industry preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>The district reserves the right to accept any combination of the above required or preferred qualifications in the final hiring decision.</p> </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions:</p> <p>Classification F, $18.94-$25.17/Hour, 12-month position</p> <p>Monday - Thursday 7:30a - 4:00p, Friday 7:30a - 3:30p</p> <ul> <li> <p>Application Procedure:</p> </li><li> <p>External applicants (not currently employed by GPPSS):</p> </li><li> <p>Click on the "Apply" button to initiate the application process.</p> </li><li> <p>Internal applicants, currently employed by GPPSS:</p> </li><li> <p>E-mail your letter of intent and an updated resume to: Moussa Hamka, Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources - hamkam@gpschools.org Be sure to include the Job ID in the subject line.</p> </li><li> <p>Selection Procedure:</p> </li><li> <p>The successful candidate must meet the State standard for a clear criminal history and provide mandated fingerprint clearance.</p> </li></ul>
