This includes working with current programs that are in place or are in development. The specialist must cooperatively and collaboratively work with Radiation Control Office Staff to manage activities and duties required for the implementation of all programs. The position will assist these programs by conducting independent laboratory evaluations, taking radioactive samples, running counting equipment, managing the transportation of radioactive wastes, and processing of wastes for final disposal.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>To be considered for this position, candidates must demonstrate in the application materials:</p> <p>Experience Only:</p> <p>Four (4) years of relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned to this position such as physical sciences.</p> <p>OR</p> <p>Education and Experience:</p> <p>A combination of related education and/or relevant experience in the physical sciences as related to the work assigned equal to four (4) years.</p> <ul> <li>Please note, unofficial or official transcripts must be attached if utilizing education to meet the minimum qualifications. </li></ul> <p>Substitutions Preferred Qualifications</p> <p>The highly desired candidate will possess the following knowledge, skills, abilities, personal characteristics, and experience directly related and critical to this position:</p> <ul> <li>Related state service experience. </li><li>Experience working in a scientific laboratory setting working with hazardous materials. </li><li>Willingness and/or working with radioactive materials or radiation producing machines. </li></ul>
