You will support an array of partners to reduce health disparities and improve the lives of people in Oregon by providing strategic direction for the Community Programs Team. The Community Programs Team supports local implementation of the Tobacco Prevention and Education Program, the Alcohol and Other Drug Prevention and Education Program, the Public Health Equity Commercial Tobacco Prevention grant program and the Regional Health Equity Coalition grant program.</p> <p>In this position, you will:</p> <ul> <li>Assign and monitor work of HPCDP community programs team staff to meet program goals and objectives, including training and development. </li><li>Recommend revisions to agency policy and procedures to increase program effectiveness based on evaluation of impact and reach of programs on target populations. </li><li>Develop and monitor program budgets by projecting resource needs for the grant programs. </li><li>Confer with managers, program staff and partners to inform program priorities. </li><li>Collaborate on complex and large-scale program activities with internal and external partners. </li><li>Collaborate with team members to problem solve and create solutions while acknowledging and respecting the wisdom of the team. </li></ul> <p>This is a full-time, permanent classified position and is represented by a union.</p> <p>OHA values service excellence, leadership, integrity, health equity and partnership and has a strategic goal to end all health inequities by 2030.</p> <p>The OHA mission is helping people and communities achieve optimum physical, mental, and social well-being through partnership, prevention and access to quality, affordable health care. Click here, to learn more about OHA's mission, vision and core values.</p> <p>WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>Any combination of experience or education equivalent to seven years experience coordinating or administering a program.</p> <p>Education in Business or Public Administration, Behavioral or Social Sciences, or a degree related to the agency program (Public Health) can provide substation for some required experience.</p> <ul> <li>Associate degree will sub for up to 18 months of experience. </li><li>Bachelor's degree will sub for up to 3 years of experience. </li><li>Master's degree will sub for up to 4 years of experience. </li><li>Doctorate degree will sub for up to 5 years of experience. </li></ul> <p>Desired Attributes</p> <ul> <li>Experience in creating and maintaining a work environment that is respectful and accepting of diversity among team members and the people we serve. </li><li>A bachelor's degree in public health is preferred. </li><li>Experience with community-based approaches grounded in science and data to address the prevention of substance use disorder, chronic diseases and associated risk factors including tobacco use, excessive alcohol use, nutrition insecurity and lack of physical activity. </li><li>Experience establishing, coordinating, and leading grant program strategy. </li><li>Knowledge of the principles and practices of policy and systems change. </li><li>Experience using methods and techniques to engage and lead team members with varied skill sets and foster shared knowledge. </li><li>Experience facilitating complex collaborative relationships with state and local agencies, sovereign tribal nations, community organizations; and various other partners. </li><li>Experience monitoring grants and contracts, delivering coaching, and planning and implementing technical assistance and training designed to strengthen community capacity to influence social norms and facilitate collaboration among state and local programs. </li><li>Experience monitoring large-scale program budgets. </li><li>Experience leading teams through coaching, delegation and mentoring to achieve policy and program goals. </li><li>Experience with conflict resolution. </li><li>Experience promoting a culturally humility and diverse work environment. </li></ul> <p>How to apply:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Complete the online application</p> </li><li> <p>Please ensure you've provided a thorough and updated application as it pertains to the position for which you are applying.
