<p>Position Summary</p> <p>The Technician Trainee is an opportunity for an individual to obtain the training and experience necessary to become a qualified Technician. Candidates will enter into a book and hands-on training program to expose a broad yet thorough knowledge of Electrical, Instrumentation, Control and Measurement Systems pertaining to refined products and/or chemicals.</p> <p>General Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Be assigned to a location within the Company to undergo an in-depth technical and operational training program that is normally 24 to 36 months in length. </li><li>Receive on the job training while working alongside individuals from Technical Services, Operations and Engineering. </li><li>Training includes, but is not limited to; day-to-day maintenance, troubleshooting, project commissioning, wiring, calibrations, project management, system layout, system optimization, emergency response, construction oversight, equipment repair, and performing studies. </li><li>Specific areas of program include, but are not limited to; Terminal automation systems, card readers, load rack presets, additive injection systems, power distribution, motors and pumps, PLC, flow computers, variable frequency drives and other motor controllers, product measurement systems, SCADA, conduit and wiring methods, control devices, computer networks and serial communications, hazardous area classification, and the National Electric Code. </li><li>Develop and/or complete write ups on the above listed areas of training. </li></ul> <p>Position Qualifications</p> <p>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills. </li><li>Ability to fulfill the requirements of the Department of Transportation (DOT) Regulation 49 CFR Part 195 Operator Qualification Program. </li><li>Must be willing to comply with all company policies and regulatory requirements. </li><li>Ability to maintain stability under pressure and be flexible and willing to modify plans and behavior when necessary. </li><li>Ability to perform all required mathematical calculations with or without the use of a calculator. </li><li>Basic computer and Microsoft Office experience </li><li>Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends and/or holidays. </li><li>Ability to work outside for long periods of time in any weather condition. </li><li>Ability to work overtime as necessary. </li><li>Ability to be a positive representative of the Company both internally and externally. </li><li>Ability to work with respect and cooperation at all times with fellow employees and customers. </li><li>Must be committed to working safely at all times. </li></ul> <p>Experience/Education:</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma / GED or equivalent experience is required. </li><li>Vocational-Technical certificate or an Associate's degree in electronics or related field is preferred. </li><li>Minimum of 2 years of experience pertaining to the electrical or electronics background. </li><li>Electrician's license a plus </li><li>Possess and maintain a valid driver's license. </li><li>Must be able to obtain and maintain a Transport Worker Identification Card (TWIC). </li></ul> <p>Travel:</p> <p>Up to 80% travel required. Requires the ability to travel to field locations where environment may vary significantly.</p> <p>Physical Requirements:</p> <p>The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
