<p>Sussex County Community College is in immediate need to hire a qualified applicant to teach within our Criminal Justice program, both online and in person at our Newton campus.</p> <p>Adjunct Instructors are responsible for providing high-quality delivery of course content to students in accordance with course competencies and College policies, using a variety of instructional techniques, strategies, and modalities/delivery methods.</p> <p>Position Responsibilities Include:</p> <ul> <li>Preparing and providing course instruction and conducting classes in accordance with the philosophy of the college and within the scope of a defined course of study. </li><li>Teaching the many facets of being a property master for theatrical productions while focusing on research techniques, problem solving and technical skills applied to a variety of projects. </li><li>Emphasis will be placed on expanding resource locating and procurement and organizational skills. </li><li>Adhering to the syllabus that focuses on History and Research, Materials, Tools and Processes, Analysis, Research and Execution, and the Collaborative Process </li><li>Emphasis will be placed on expanding resource locating and procurement and organizational skills. </li><li>Assisting students with coursework that includes hands-on projects. </li><li>Assessing student performance including but not limited to critiquing and evaluating student course work, taking attendance, grading assignments, projects, and exams in a timely fashion, and assisting students in achieving successful outcomes. </li><li>Adhering to administrative time lines for submission of attendance, grades and other required documents. </li><li>Ability to teach classes in a face-to-face classroom environment. </li><li>Ability to use technology and interactive electronic materials to support teaching and learning, including Microsoft Suite programs. </li><li>Ability to schedule office hours for student appointments. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Master's degree in Criminal Justice or related discipline. </li><li>5+ years of applicable experience and prior teaching strongly preferred. </li><li>Experience teaching Criminal Justice and related courses, as well as online/remote teaching. </li><li>Advanced certifications or licenses </li><li>Ability to work a flexible schedule is preferred (morning, afternoons, evening and weekend courses may be available) </li></ul> <p>The Learning Management System (LMS) that we use is Canvas. Prior knowledge of Canvas or similar learning platform is preferred. Although not a requirement strong technical and computer proficiency is recommended.</p> <p>Adjunct pay is based on $910 per credit hour.</p> <p>Sussex County Community College is an Equal Opportunity Employer.</p> <p>Effective September 1, 2011, the NJ First Act requires that certain classifications of persons employed by a public higher education institution will have 365 days within which to establish a primary residence in NJ.
