<p>ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS</p> <ul> <li> <p>Interpret and enforce National Federation youth soccer rules, as well as local "house" rule adaptations.</p> </li><li> <p>Invoke and impose penalties for violations of said rules.</p> </li><li> <p>Examine equipment and playing area to verify compliance with said rules.</p> </li><li> <p>Supervise and control the general conduct of all participants.</p> </li><li> <p>Proactively represent the Appleton Parks & Recreation program beliefs of skill development, inclusion and fun through active physical and verbal engagement in each game officiated.</p> </li><li> <p>Identify "teachable moments" and proactively instruct participants on age appropriate use of skills and strategies within the game environment.</p> </li><li> <p>Wear proper officiating attire per National Federation rules while complying with the City of Appleton dress code.</p> </li><li> <p>Accurately track and sign for game results and hours worked (pay sheet).</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain a positive environment by encouraging participants, coaches and parents to display proper sportsmanship.</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge and understanding of the variety of rules that govern youth soccer.</p> </li><li> <p>Well versed in the officiating skills needed to effectively manage a game.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to supervise and maintain control of all on-field situations.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to integrate instruction into the officiating of the game.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to communicate confidently and respectfully with coaches, players and spectators.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to keep accurate records and complete all necessary paperwork.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the public.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work accurately under pressure.</p> </li><li> <p>Adhere to the City of Appleton and Departmental policies and procedures.</p> </li></ul> <p>Work Location: USA Youth Complex</p> <p>Employment Period: August (Training) and Saturdays from Sept 6th- Oct 25th</p> <p>Days/Hours per day: Saturdays, 2 - 6 hours</p> <p>YOUTH SPORT OFFICIAL I REQUIREMENTS:</p> <p>Education Level Required: High School Student or at least 14 years old.</p> <p>Grade 2: $13.41-$15.46/hour</p> <p>YOUTH SPORT OFFICIAL II REQUIREMENTS:</p> <p>Education Level Required: High School Graduate/GED</p> <p>Pay Grade 4; $17.53-$19.58/hour;</p> <ul> <li>Two years officiating experience or a combination of past experience at the junior high or high school level </li></ul> <p>YOUTH SPORT OFFICIAL III REQUIREMENTS:</p> <p>Education Level Required: High School Graduate/GED</p> <p>Grade 5: $19.59-$22.66/hour;</p> <ul> <li>Four years officiating experience or a combination of past experience at the junior high or high school level </li><li>Earned the respect of participants, coaches, and the public through past work in the department </li></ul> <p>CERTIFIED SPORT OFFICIAL III REQUIREMENTS:</p> <p>Education Level Required: High School Graduate/GED</p> <p>Certified Rate: $30.91/hour;</p> <ul> <li>Over five (5) years officiating experience or a combination of past experience at the junior high or high school level </li><li>Proof of Soccer Refereeing Certifications </li></ul>
