This position leads a team to manage residential student conduct and case management. The Assistant Director supports Residence Life and Housing's priority of community development in the specific areas of upholding community standards and safety in the residence halls. Assisting to create a residential environment that is welcoming to all students and where students feel they belong and are well cared for is paramount to this work. This Assistant Director serves as a liaison to many departments and services including but not limited to Wellness Promotion, Public Safety Security Desk Officers, Student Conduct. </p> <p>Responsibilities include:</p> <ul> <li>Oversee the community standards, residential student conduct process, ensuring alignment with departmental policies, the Housing Occupancy Agreement, RLH Community Standards, and the University's Student Code of Conduct </li><li>Triage incident reports, investigate policy concerns, and facilitate conduct meetings and hearings, serving as a University Hearing Officer in partnership with the Office of Student Conduct </li><li>Contribute to ongoing assessment and reporting related to conduct trends and outcomes </li><li>Lead and support initiatives aimed at fostering inclusive, supportive residential communities with a focus on student well-being, mental health awareness, personal responsibility, and respectful community living </li><li>Develop and implement educational programming and outreach efforts addressing behavioral trends and promoting student engagement, accountability, and holistic wellness </li><li>Build collaborative relationships with departments including Wellness Promotion, Counseling Services, Public Safety, and the Office of Student Conduct to offer coordinated support to students </li><li>Provide direct supervision to the Coordinator for Community Standards and a Graduate Coordinator, including performance coaching, delegation of tasks, and professional development </li><li>Oversee Maxient recordkeeping to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant conduct documentation </li><li>Support operational initiatives within RLH including training, move-in/move-out, resident engagement, and policy implementation </li><li>Collaborate with the leadership team to facilitate professional training sessions, retreats, and department-wide planning efforts </li><li>Serve as a key member of the department's crisis response team, including participation in an on-call rotation and responding directly to incidents involving residential students </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned </li><li>Bachelor's degree </li><li>Minimum of three years of progressively responsible experience in Housing & Residence Life or Student Conduct </li><li>At least three years of experience serving as a hearing officer within Housing & Residence Life or Student Conduct </li><li>Ability to participate in on-call rotation and respond to campus within 1 hour of call </li><li>Minimum of three years of professional experience with demonstrated working knowledge of using case management software such as Maxient and other similar application </li><li>Master's degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, or a related field; and/or </li><li>Minimum of three years of experience supervising staff; and/or </li><li>Experience working within a public-private partnership or residential life program; and/or </li><li>Demonstrated proficiency in Maxient; and/or </li><li>Demonstrated experience in crisis assessment and intervention including participation in an on-call rotation </li></ul> <p>The salary for this position is $84,867 commensurate with experience and expertise.
