<p>Job Responsibilities</p> <p>Come join our team at the Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation (LLR) where you will experience work-life balance, great benefits, and an exciting career that supports the Agency's mission to make South Carolina a safe place to work and live.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>You will serve as a Community Risk Reduction (CRR) Strategist, fire service point of contact, and program coordinator for a geographically assigned area. </li><li>You will serve as a subject matter expert for CRR principals and best practices, conducting tailored outreach activities related to Fire Safe SC (FSSC), alarm technology, fire service training, and coordinating ongoing CRR activities. </li><li>You will serve as a subject matter expert on fire and life safety education to include disseminating messaging, coordinating annual Fire and CRR Summits, and fostering fire service awareness. </li><li>You will serve as a subject matter expert on fire incident reporting and data-focused best practices and evaluating information related to community-changing fires and life safety incidents. </li><li>You will support CRR by maintaining and developing instructional materials and promote fire and life safety event requests, smoke alarm blitz operations, and special projects. </li><li>You will perform other duties as assigned, including delivering data-specific training, communicating with national stakeholders in support of the local fire service, annual reporting, evaluating data, and maintaining accountability of CRR resources. </li></ul> <p>Minimum and Additional Requirements</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>A high school diploma and relevant program experience. A bachelor's degree may be substituted for relevant program experience. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Experience in emergency preparedness, response, community leadership, data management, and/or public health. </li><li>Ability to manage, plan, and coordinate service delivery. </li><li>Ability to conduct causal chain analysis to identify opportunities to apply and evaluate application of resources with respect to applicable best practices, laws, regulations, policies and procedures. </li><li>Knowledge of the nationally accepted CRR process and willingness to participate in self-development opportunities to foster understanding of data, education, and outreach roles. </li><li>Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. </li><li>Ability to communicate effectively, both written and in-person. </li><li>Ability to compile and present information. </li><li>Knowledge of basic computing and software, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and ability to learn industry-specific tools used for data collection and visualization. </li></ul> <p>Other Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Position functions primarily in an office environment but will perform outreach duties in the field. </li><li>Requires routine travel during normal work hours and occasional overnight/weekend travel. </li><li>May require work outside of normal Agency business hours including holidays and weekends. </li><li>May require extended periods of driving. </li><li>Must have a valid driver's license and 10-year MVR that complies with State and Agency Fleet guidelines. </li><li>Must be able to lift and carry objects in excess of 50lbs. </li><li>Must be able to climb ladders, climb and descend stairs, squat, kneel, stand, and walk for extended hours in support of various job functions. </li></ul> <p>Additional Comments</p> <p>Benefits Offered</p> <p>The South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation offers an exceptional benefits package for FTE positions that includes:</p> <ul> <li>Health, dental, vision, long term disability, and life insurance for employee, spouse, and children </li><li>15 days annual (vacation) leave per year </li><li>15 days sick leave per year </li><li>13 paid holidays </li><li>Paid Parental Leave </li><li>State Retirement Plan and Deferred Compensation Programs </li></ul>
