The Department of Transportation is currently on the lookout for a Chief Real Estate Appraiser to oversee the process of securing legal rights-of-way and acquiring necessary real estate for highway enhancements. If you are interested in this exciting opportunity, submit your application today!</p> <p>DESCRIPTION OF WORK</p> <p>This position supervises the securing of legal rights-of-way and acquiring real estate needed for highway improvements. Your work will be essential for ensuring that appraisals reflect fair market value, just compensation of damages, and are completed in a timely manner to meet letting schedules. Responsibilities include determining the appropriate type of appraisal needed for each property, preparing analysis planning documentation for staff and fee appraisers, determining when fee appraisers are needed to complete the appraisal process, and participating in the contracting and selecting process. You will also review staff appraiser's final appraisal reports for completeness, accuracy, methodology, and conformance to state and federal requirements in the administration of Right of way policies and procedures. Additional details regarding this position can be found in the position description.</p> <p>Work Schedule and Additional Information:</p> <ul> <li>Full-time employment </li><li>Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. </li><li>Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to five days per pay period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in King of Prussia. </li><li>Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. </li><li>You will receive further communication regarding this position via email. Check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices. </li></ul> <p>REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS</p> <p>Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>One year as a General Real Estate Appraiser (commonwealth title) (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or </li><li>Three years of professional real estate appraisal experience which includes one year appraising all types of real property. </li></ul> <p>Special Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>All positions require possession of an active Pennsylvania Certified General Appraiser certification. </li><li>All positions require possession of an active motor vehicle license. </li></ul> <p>Other Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>You must meet the PA residency requirement.
