Hunter Law Library at Brigham Young University Law School is seeking applicants for a one-year AI research fellow position. The AI Research Fellow will work closely with the Law School's Legal Technology Initiative and with law faculty on research projects, participate in research, write articles and books, and propose applications of artificial intelligence in the research, teaching, and practice of law. There is no teaching assignment, though the Fellow will participate in training members of the Law School community. It is expected that the AI Research Fellow will work with BYU Law School faculty members who are conducting research and writing projects related to the AI Research Fellow's area of interest. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals considering a future in academia, providing time, mentorship, and institutional support to develop a robust research agenda at the intersection of law and technology.</p> <p>The AI Research Fellow will join the Law School for one year, with the possibility of renewal for a second and third year. The AI Research Fellow will be expected to remain in residence at BYU Provo for the duration of the fellowship and work on-site. It is expected that the AI Research Fellow will help support law faculty research projects that would benefit from the application of artificial intelligence.</p> <p>WHAT QUALIFIES YOU FOR THIS ROLE?</p> <p>Required Degree: Master's degree in Computer Science or a relevant technical or quantitative field is required; a PhD is preferred. The required degree must be completed by the start date.</p> <p>Experience: A successful applicant will have demonstrated skills applying AI to solve problems and a vision to apply AI to the research, teaching, and practice of law.
