Our focus is to be safe, caring, dependable and efficient in all we do.</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>Responsible for all facets of maintenance, including safety and environmental compliance, the safety of personnel, and efficient and effective maintenance of company assets. This role oversees reliability, availability, and safe maintenance of dredging equipment, fixed and rotating equipment, slurry systems, dewatering systems, conveyors, screening systems, cyclones, dryers, elevators, dust mitigation equipment, and electrical / controls infrastructure. Actively involved in the planning activities during the design phase and projects and leads all operational maintenance actions. Takes a proactive approach to maintenance planning using preventive and predictive techniques based on data, experience, and OEM recommendations. Coordinates efforts with the operations team to maximize equipment availability and continually improve maintenance and production operations. Presents a positive and professional image to customers, employees, peers, and the public.</p> <p>Key Accountabilities</p> <ul> <li>Execute role and responsibilities in a Safe, Caring, Dependable, and Efficient manner. </li><li>Directly supervises maintenance activities through respective Supervisor(s). </li><li>Assures that Safety and Environmental is very prominent in the Operations environment through demonstration and enforcement of all Company Safety and Environmental standards. This would include an active role in Safety Meetings. </li><li>Develop and maintain complete preventative and corrective maintenance plans for mine and sand processing facility. </li><li>Lead, train, and mentor maintenance technicians, electricians, mechanics, and contractors. </li><li>Prioritize and schedule daily, weekly, and long-term maintenance tasks to support operational uptime. </li><li>Implement and maintain reliability best practices, such as root cause analysis, lubrication programs, and equipment condition monitoring. </li><li>Coordinate third party maintenance services, equipment rebuilds, and major overhauls. </li><li>Source and manage critical spare parts inventories. </li><li>Assists in the preparation of detailed efficiency studies and analyzes operations to conceptualize needs and determine requirements for the maintenance of equipment in conjunction with operational needs. </li><li>Coordinate with Operations and Engineering teams to optimize plant performance. </li><li>Assists the Plant Manager and Operations Manager with the preparation of annual maintenance budget, as well as periodic updates and forecasts. </li><li>Shall develop and maintain detailed preventative maintenance plan for all facility equipment. The plan shall meet or exceed manufacturer recommendations. The preventative maintenance tasks shall be placed and maintained within the computer-based maintenance software program (CMMS). </li><li>Maintains professional and high-level contact with customers, vendors and management. </li><li>Ensures scheduled system repairs and maintenance are coordinated and clearly communicated with departments to minimize the effect of down time. </li><li>Responsible for understanding and complying with contractual obligations to ensure that requirements are met. </li><li>Consolidates data and prepares weekly and monthly activity reports as requested. </li><li>Responsible for administration of the personnel management functions of subordinate staff, to include recruitment, orientation, training, evaluation, scheduling, disciplinary actions and termination. </li><li>Will be on On-Call 24 hours per day and 7 days per week. Coverage of the Maintenance Manager duties shall be delegated when out of the area for business or personal reasons. </li><li>Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, subordinates (if any) and company officers and managers, clients, vendors, and suppliers. </li><li>Ability to maintain strict confidentiality at all times, including the ability to recognize situations in which confidentiality is required. </li><li>Performs special projects and job-related duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Education & Experience Requirements</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma or equivalent </li><li>Must have knowledge and skill using computers; including Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Project, Pivot Tables, CAD, Internet Explorer and Outlook </li></ul> <p>Other Qualifications Preferred:</p> <ul> <li>Associates or bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a closely related field. An appropriate level of relevant and applicable work experience may be substituted for the education preferred. </li><li>Minimum of 5 years of experience of industrial maintenance experience in silica-sand production preferred. </li><li>Minimum of 5 years supervisory experience in the industrial maintenance facilities preferred. </li><li>Strong working knowledge of dredge systems, pumps, conveyors, screening systems, dryers, and electrical equipment. </li><li>Strong working knowledge of Maximo CMMS. </li></ul> <p>Other Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to communicate clearly and accurately, orally and in written format. </li><li>Ability to read and understand technical materials. </li><li>Ability to make presentations to large audiences. </li><li>Ability to prepare detailed reports, including the ability to assemble information in computer programs. </li><li>Ability to define problems, collect information, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. </li><li>Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision. </li><li>Ability to schedule, organize, and complete multiple tasks in a timely manner. </li><li>Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure. </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands</p> <p>The physical demands characterized in the attached essential and marginal job functions epitomize those that must be met by an employee to properly perform the integral functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.</p> <ul> <li>Lifting a minimum of 20 lbs. may be required. </li><li>Position involves periods of standing, walking, bending, stooping, climbing of ladders, long periods of sitting and sometimes walking in gentle rugged terrain. </li><li>Must have adequate hearing and speech to communicate effectively with co-workers and others by telephone, two-way radio, and in-person. </li><li>Work requires the use of computers with exposure to video display terminals, the need to work in front of a computer terminal for extended periods of time and some repetitive motion associated with data entry and the use of a computer mouse. </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions</p> <ul> <li>The noise level in the office environment is quiet to moderate. </li><li>The noise level in the facility is moderate to loud and proper hearing protection will be required in designated areas. </li><li>Personal protective equipment must be worn for a majority of work duties. </li><li>Work is performed in both an office and field setting with exposure to environmental stress, and frequent interruptions. </li><li>Work schedule is a normal five-day work week organization and role to which they are assigned.
