<p>Job Number:</p> <p>WISN0292429-0000</p> <p>Start Date:</p> <p>2023-12-01T00:00:00</p> <p>End Date:</p> <p>2023-11-28T00:00:00</p> <p>Description:</p> <p>Teaching assistants (TAs) support teachers by performing duties, under the general supervision of a licensed or certified teacher, such as: Completing simple repairs of instructional materials and equipment Opening help desk tickets in situations where basic troubleshooting is insufficientWorking with individual pupils or groups of pupils on special instructional projectsFacilitating computer lab work; overseeing the technical and logistical operation of the computer lab (for buildings with labs) Performing tasks related to the administration of school-wide, district, and New York State computer-based testsFacilitating students and teachers in the location and use of available instructional resourcesManaging records (e.g. inventory, repair records), materials (e.g. peripherals), and equipment (e.g. items for surplus, devices for repair)Keeping appropriate schedules, as related to the assignment, for spaces and equipmentPlanning and constructing bulletin boards, displays, etc., which may include digital signage and presentations for the buildingHelping a teacher to train other teaching assistants in technology-related skills Participating in staff development and professional improvement activities as assignedParticipating in building/department meetings as directed by the principal or his/her designeeParticipating in Computer TA meetings Meeting regularly with the Technology Integration Specialist to discuss the building's needs, develop his or her own skillset, & create resources for teachers and students The role of the Computer TA will be relatively consistent across all buildings, with an understanding that every building's needs are different. The ideal Computer TA is expected to be: An excellent problem-solver - They must be able to identify and troubleshoot computer problems quickly and efficiently.Flexible and responsive - They must be comfortable adjusting their schedule depending on the needs of the building, issues that require immediate attention, and technology-infused lessons occurring in classrooms.
