<p>Academic Director - Honolulu:</p> <p>Reports to: School Director (local) and Director of Academic Management, North America (regional)</p> <p>EF is looking for an experienced manager to oversee the academic program at our wonderful school in Honolulu. The Academic Director is responsible for academic programs in the school including hiring and managing teachers, coordinating classes and supervising academic components of the school budget.</p> <p>The ideal candidate is someone who is driven and is a proven leader with an ability to collaborate and grow their staff. This person is someone who is able to problem solve, does not subscribe to a "that's not my job" attitude, and has ambitions to grow both personally and professionally while reaching new targets at a heavily customer service focused school. This person will also be required to work collaboratively with other departments and should have excellent communication, delegation and management skills with a proven background in international education.</p> <p>Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Manage a large teaching team incl. recruitment and development </li><li>Ability to guide, develop, inspire and motivate teams </li><li>Proven track record in effective recruitment and HR </li><li>Relentless focus on customer service and quality </li><li>Global-/International work experience </li><li>A model of quality & professionalism </li><li>Ensures that the EF in-house curriculum and materials are used in a dynamic way by the teaching staff </li><li>Ensures that all policies and procedures are complied with by staff in the academic department </li><li>Maintains the academic integrity of the school </li><li>Organizes placement testing and places students in appropriate levels </li><li>Counsels individual students regarding academic performance </li><li>Tracks students with excessive absences and initiates Academic Warning Letters </li><li>Coordinates professional development </li><li>observes teachers and conducts follow-up meetings </li><li>provides written, formal evaluations of observations </li><li>provides professional guidance </li><li>Coordinates departure evaluation questionnaires and departure testing </li><li>Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail </li><li>Ability to manage difficult situations & remain calm under pressure </li><li>Excellent cross-cultural communication, people and conflict resolution skills </li><li>Strong, confident decision maker.
