<p>Overview</p> <p>Registered Nurse Manager, Surgery Unit</p> <p>Full Time, 80 Hours Per Pay Period, Day Shift</p> <p>Fort Sanders Regional Overview:</p> <p>Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center is an award-winning, certified, and accredited facility with 541 beds. As a Joint Commission Comprehensive Stroke Center, Fort Sanders offers state-of-the art care that maximizes recovery from stroke. We are also the region's leader in technology in areas such as bariatric surgery, robotic surgery and minimally invasive spine surgery. Our door-to-balloon times for heart attack patients are below the national average, and our hip fracture center offers advanced diagnosis, surgery and recovery procedures for hip patients.</p> <p>Department Description:</p> <p>At Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center, we have board certified surgeons that use the most advanced technologies to provide care for their patients. Some patients may require an overnight or longer visit in the hospital to provide more intensive monitoring and care that cannot be provided in a home setting. We care for a multitude of patients who have had Urological, Vascular, Wound, or General Surgeries.</p> <p>The Surgery Unit (3 North) at Fort Sanders is a 31-bed unit providing patient centered care for our medical surgical patients. We are committed to providing a healing and safe environment for all our patients. Our multidisciplinary team works together with patients and their families to design a personalized plan of care to achieve excellent outcomes!</p> <p>Our staff consists of RNs, LPNs, CNA/PCAs, and HUCs who work together to provide exceptional patient care. This too is a team process in which we closely follow your orientation process to ensure you are getting the best tools and knowledge to make you successful at your job and to keep our patients safe.</p> <p>If you are passionate about caring for medical surgical patients with a specialization in post-surgery patients and would like to work in a great environment, please apply!</p> <p>Position Summary:</p> <p>Is accountable for the delivery of high quality nursing care and for the administrative management of the nursing unit on a 24-hour basis. Fulfills all duties and responsibilities associated with the Nurse Manager position.</p> <p>Recruiter: Lacey Spoon || Lspoon2@covhlth.com || 865-374-5404</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Selects, trains, orients, develop and evaluate performance of the department staff. Ensures staffing mix and allocation in accordance with departmental guidelines. </li><li>Develops departmental budgets. Administers operations in accordance with budgeted parameters. </li><li>Maintains operational reports and records and collects statistical data for administrative and regulatory purposes. </li><li>Coordinates and reports outcome of nursing activities performed on behalf of the patient. </li><li>Establishes and maintains communication between the nursing unit, medical staff and ancillary departments for the purposes of problem solving and quality improvement. Utilizes appropriate lines of communication within the facility. </li><li>Ensures establishment and implementation of unit goals and objectives are in alignment with the facility and system. </li><li>Promotes a safe environment that allows for the delivery of high quality patient care utilizing evidenced based practices. </li><li>Protects patient confidentiality by promoting professional staff communications. </li><li>Supervises, institutes, and evaluates nursing interventions and documentation. </li><li>Demonstrates competence in performing critical skills to include appropriate delivery of care according to the age-specific needs of the population served. </li><li>Works collaboratively with other disciplines to ensure patient care is timely, efficient, and effective. </li><li>Facilitates professional development of staff with accountability for staff retention. </li><li>Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested. </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Minimum Education:</p> <p>Graduate of accredited nursing program required; possession of a bachelor's degree in nursing or a related field preferred (required within 3 years in position or effective date of job description).</p> <p>Minimum Experience:</p> <p>Three (3) years of recent clinical experience. Two (2) years of leadership/managerial experience preferred.</p> <p>Licensure Requirement:</p> <p>Must have and maintain Tennessee State registered nurse license.</p>
