As an Experienced Utilities Engineer you will be responsible for a variety of projects, taking ownership from start to finish.</p> <p>What are the core responsibilities for the role?</p> <ul> <li>Work with a project team consisting of engineers, designers, third-party/utility coordinators and field personnel involved in the design, relocation, coordination, modification, analysis, and constructability of new and existing utility systems as part of large-scale transportation projects </li><li>Work on challenging assignments that include investigating, troubleshooting, and solving a wide variety of engineering and construction-related issues </li><li>Coordinate utility relocation/coordination efforts on behalf of Federal, State, and Local agencies or utility infrastructure owners </li><li>Follow Federal, State and Local codes, administrative rules, ordinances, regulations and requirements </li><li>Coordinate design activities to ensure installation and operations will comply with specifications, codes, and client requirements </li><li>Work with a team for the execution of detailed design phases for all aspects of utility engineering and coordination work </li><li>Assist with preparation, review, and/or approval of proposals, contracts, and cost estimates </li><li>Assist with negotiation of revisions, changes, and additions to contractual agreements with sub-consultants, and clients </li><li>Work with a team to ensure projects are completed satisfactorily, on time, and within budget </li><li>Prepare reports and studies that present technical information in a clear and concise manner and meet client requirements </li><li>Perform independent reviews of work performed by others including calculations and drawing preparation </li><li>Leadership opportunities depending on experience </li></ul> <p>Qualifications, Skills, and Competencies:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering Degree </li><li>Professional Engineering License </li><li>5+ years of total experience </li><li>2+ years of experience in transportation engineering, design or construction fields </li><li>Ability to effectively contribute to engineering, design or construction projects </li><li>Proficiency in MicroStation (ORD) </li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required </li></ul> <p>Why would a candidate want this job?</p> <p>At Horrocks, you can expect a competitive base salary and award-winning benefits.
