We are a small special education school of 40 students. We support our teachers and work closely as a team but also give them autonomy to plan and implement their lessons creatively, as they see fit. This is your chance to work with a small number of students (6 students per class and caseload) and make a big impact on their lives! The math teacher will be responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring middle and high school math instruction for special education students with emotional/social issues. Additional key responsibilities include maintaining a caring and structured classroom environment. This teacher will also maintain close contact with parents/guardians, share a leadership role in creating a trauma-informed and academically challenging environment, and provide supervision for Teacher Assistants. The successful teacher will demonstrate a deep understanding of the learning process as well as have the knowledge and skills to teach an array of math classes. Exceptional interpersonal skills are a must.
