Our mission requires us to have highly skilled personnel and a spectrum of advanced technology. </li><li>THE VALUE OF INTEGRITY: We expect people who are part of the McLeod Health family to display honesty, wisdom, discipline, and an intense desire to accept the responsibility of care for patients and their families. </li></ul> <p>What You'll Do:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Performs duties in alignment with the Oncology Data Specialist competency framework and organizational Service Excellence standards.</p> </li><li> <p>Manages Cancer Registry operations to ensure compliance with Medical Staff requirements and ACoS/CoC standards.</p> </li><li> <p>Abstracts, codes, and analyzes oncology data per national registry standards, including timely case completion, accurate staging and treatment coding, and identification of reportable cases.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintains confidentiality and integrity of patient health information.</p> </li><li> <p>Conducts compliant long-term patient follow-up through provider and patient outreach.</p> </li><li> <p>Supports Cancer Committee functions, cancer conferences, and multidisciplinary activities.</p> </li><li> <p>Communicates registry guideline updates and performs quality assurance activities, including case review and re-abstraction.</p> </li><li> <p>Participates in special studies and quality initiatives as required.</p> </li><li> <p>Prepares, submits, and maintains accurate oncology data reports for internal and external stakeholders, including state and national cancer databases.</p> </li><li> <p>Provides guidance and support to entry-level Oncology Data Specialists as assigned.</p> </li><li> <p>Performs all other duties as assigned.</p> </li></ul> <p>Work Schedule That Supports Work-Life Balance</p> <p>Enjoy a stable, full-time schedule (72 hours biweekly) that offers a combination of on-site and remote work.</p> <p>What You Bring:</p> <ul> <li>Education: High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution. </li><li>Associate's degree in Cancer Registry Management from an NCRA-accredited program, including successful completion of an NCRA-accredited practicum </li></ul> <p>OR</p> <ul> <li>Associate's degree (or a minimum of 60 college-level credits) in any field, plus completion of an NCRA-accredited Certificate in Cancer Registry Management, including successful completion of an NCRA-accredited practicum </li></ul> <p>OR</p> <ul> <li>Associate's degree (or a minimum of 60 college-level credits), plus: </li><li>Two semesters of Human Anatomy and Physiology, and </li><li>1,950 hours (equivalent to one year fulltime) of documented cancer registry work experience </li></ul> <p>Certification</p> <ul> <li>Certified Oncology Data Specialist (ODS) credential preferred </li><li>Candidates not certified at time of hire must be eligible for and obtain ODS certification within two (2) years of hire, in accordance with NCRA eligibility requirements and exam availability </li></ul> <p>Conditional Qualifications / Education in Progress</p> <ul> <li>Candidates actively enrolled in an NCRA-accredited Cancer Registry Management degree or certificate program may be considered, provided all NCRA educational and practicum requirements are completed within two (2) years of hire </li></ul> <p>Live & Work in Historic Florence, SC</p> <p>Join us in Florence, South Carolina, a charming and growing community that serves as a regional hub for healthcare, commerce, and culture.
