This role is ideal for a student pursuing a major in Operations, Data Science, Information Management, Business Analytics, or a related field who is interested in leveraging technology and data to drive organizational improvement.</p> <p>The intern will support the Data and Technology Departments in enhancing systems, processes, and data availability to empower staff across the district to make informed, evidence-based decisions.</p> <p>This role also offers meaningful learning opportunities, including hands-on experience working with real-world data in a public education environment, developing skills in operational analysis and systems improvement, and contributing to projects that directly impact decision-making and efficiency across the school system.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Assist in the design, evaluation, and improvement of operational processes within Data and Technology Departments </li><li>Support special projects focused on increasing access to actionable data for staff and leadership </li><li>Analyze datasets to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for system and process improvements </li><li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand operational needs and translate them into data solutions </li><li>Help develop dashboards, web pages, reports, and tools that improve data visibility and usability </li><li>Document workflows, systems, and recommendations for continuous improvement </li><li>Participate in meetings and contribute to project planning and implementation efforts </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Currently pursuing a degree in Operations Management, Information Management, Business Analytics, Data Science, or a related field </li><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an interest in data-driven decision-making </li><li>Proficiency in tools such as Excel, Google Sheets, or similar data analysis platforms </li><li>Familiarity with AI tools and concepts (e.g., generative AI, prompt design, or automation tools) and an interest in applying them to improve workflows </li><li>Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail </li><li>Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment </li><li>Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across departments </li><li>Interest in improving systems and processes within a public sector or educational settings </li></ul> <p>Department: Data Department</p> <p>Reports To: Director of Data, Assessment, and Research</p> <p>Hours: 1520 hours per week (June through August with potential for additional hours)</p> <p>Compensation: $24/hour</p>
