<p>APPLY NOW</p> <p>JOB DESCRIPTION: Conducts psychological evaluations of children, juveniles and parents to assist the Juvenile Office and Circuit Court from receipt through disposition of referral. Provides consultation in case processing and advice in program development and implementation. This position works under the direction of the Juvenile Officer - Family Court Administrator.</p> <ul> <li>Through interviews, administration of standardized psychological tests and review of history and prior mental health evaluations. </li><li>Provides diagnostic evaluation of juveniles and families in delinquency, status offense and neglect/abuse cases, identifying level of functioning, degree of risk to the community and specific needs for care and treatment. </li><li>Provides diagnostic evaluation in cases of certification for trial as an adult to assist Juvenile Office staff and the Circuit Court in determining whether the juvenile is amenable to treatment within the juvenile justice system. </li><li>Provides diagnostic evaluation and assessment of parents and/or children in domestic relation cases involving contested custody and visitation (including but not limited to assessment of parenting skills and dynamics of the parent-child relationship) to assist the Juvenile Office staff and Circuit Court in determining children's needs and parents' ability to provide care, custody and control in accordance with community standards. </li><li>Provides comprehensive written report of results of evaluation including but not limited to: mental health diagnosis as appropriate, juvenile and family strengths and needs, treatment needs and amenability, recommendations for case handling and disposition. </li><li>Provides expert testimony in Court proceedings. </li><li>Individually or as part of a team investigates, develops and implements such programs or services as may be needed to better serve children, juveniles and parents known to the Juvenile Office and Circuit Court. </li><li>Provides treatment for juveniles and/or families referred to the Juvenile Office and under jurisdiction of the Circuit Court on a limited basis. </li><li>Participates in the staffing of cases as needed/required. </li><li>Participates as a team member in the continual assessment of a juvenile referred to the Juvenile Office or placed in foster care. </li><li>Assesses juveniles in detention for level of functioning, threat to self or others and need for specific intervention strategies. </li><li>Provides consultation to Juvenile Office staff, judges and Circuit Court staff as requested. </li><li>Reviews literature and advises Family Court Administrator of mental health trends, innovative approaches to services and service delivery and research as such may impact current programs/services. </li><li>Responds to inquiries from parents, lawyers and others, e.g. treatment agents, etc. as permitted by Juvenile Office and Circuit Court policy/practice and state statutes. </li><li>Serves as the Juvenile Office's representative on such state, regional and/or local committee(s) as assigned by the Family Court Administrator. </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>REQUIREMENTS:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Education</p> </li><li> <p>Requires a Master's degree in clinical or counseling psychology or related field such as social work, psychology, or criminal justice.</p> </li><li> <p>Doctorate degree preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>Certifications</p> </li><li> <p>License to practice psychology in the State of Missouri required.</p> </li><li> <p>Job Experience</p> </li><li> <p>Requires a minimum of 5 years experience in the practice of psychology, preferably in the juvenile justice field. Any combination of education and experience that would provide equivalent knowledge, skills, abilities and MO licensure is also acceptable.</p> </li><li> <p>Employment is contingent on successfully passing a full criminal background check.</p> </li></ul> <p>TO APPLY: All applications must be submitted using the APPLY NOW link above.
