Office Responsibilities:</p> <p>The College of Performing Arts at The New School is seeking one highly qualified Social Media Student Assistant to join the Mannes Prep team. Mannes Prep is a K-12 Saturday music school housed within the College of Performing Arts. This is an ideal position for students interested in a career in social media marketing and K-12 music education.</p> <p>Reporting to the Director of Mannes Prep, the Social Media Student Assistant is responsible for assisting Mannes Prep staff in developing their social media presence.</p> <p>This position is open to student applicants with Federal Work Study awards, as well as student applicants without a Federal Work Study award.</p> <p>The New School is strongly committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace and particularly seeks applications from members of underrepresented groups, as well as candidates who share this commitment.</p> <p>RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <ul> <li>Assisting with content creation for platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, WeChat, Xiaohongshu, and TikTok </li><li>Translate content into Mandarin as needed </li><li>Work with Mannes Prep faculty and staff to build online presence </li><li>Help post bilingual content about Mannes prep events </li><li>Support strategies for reaching prospective students in Asia </li><li>Additional responsibilities as assigned </li></ul> <p>WORK MODE</p> <ul> <li>Hybrid Position - This work occurs primarily remotely for approximately 10 hours per week, but will require some onsite presence to capture content on Mannes Prep Saturdays as determined by the Director of Mannes Prep. </li></ul> <p>SALARY RANGE</p> <p>$16.50/hour, paid on a biweekly basis</p> <p>SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS TO APPLICANTS</p> <p>Applicants should submit both a resume and cover letter outlining their interest, skills, and experience concerning this position.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Deep background in music and the arts </li><li>Skilled in design (Canva, Adobe) or editing (Final Cut, CapCut, etc.) </li><li>Adept at organizing, communicating, and sharing stories through digital platforms </li><li>Fluent in English and Mandarin </li><li>Demonstrated commitment to Equity, Inclusion, Social Justice, and the transformative power of the arts and education </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>At least two years of experience growing a brand (personal or organizational) with professionalism and consistency </li><li>Familiarity with the Mannes Prep program and mission </li><li>Federal Work Study award recipient </li></ul> <p>Job Family: Mannes School of Music Posting Date: 06/30/2025 Closing Date: Open Until Filled Yes</p>
